Nothing wrong with that. A turn is one minute, a light gun at short range can shoot several rounds in that time.

Sometimes navy is so afraid of collisions that they build a barrier around every ship imgur.com/a/ubf1w

That is obviously an anti-torpedo net in case the ship runs across any British fishing vessels Japanese torpedo boats.

A battle went from cheerful, to concern, to respect, to embarrassment in a few short minutes.
In a war with Japan in 1920 as the USA.
Get a cruiser action off the US West Coast where I have a couple of old 1906-ish BC there to help whittle down the limited Japanese cruiser force. So seeing this as a match-up fits what I am trying to do. The actual battle looks to be the two BC with two modern (29kt) CL and 3 DD vs. two Japanese CL. About ideal for taking out a few Japanese ships - though the sun sets only 55 minutes in. Things start OK with the CLs making contact and then the BCs getting into range and starting to lob 13" shells at the Japanese CLs.
Things go to concern when the two Japanese CLs make a bee-line run at the two BCs and their DD screen. And they do it while two US CLs chase them while pounding away. And it turns to respect when one of my old BCs takes a torpedo - and then eventually sinks due to progressive flooding while the two Japanese CLs escape into the falling darkness without taking heavy damage. Well done, but I hope to sink your asses soon anyways.
The embarrassment comes when I check the battle log is see that the torpedo hit was inflicted by one of my own DDs. No black flag out, but apparently they decided to launch torpedoes at the on-rushing Japanese CL from a support position. So my lost BC was an "own goal" and was listed as such as a memorable battle. And a few officers get court martial trials and then sent to count puffins in the Arctic.

I've just got a fun battle.. Fleet engagement, october 1925. My german Reich is at war with UK and Italy (just for fun at last year). In previous month almost all of my DDs were decimated in failed attack at enemy BC (the attack was made to move attention away from my fleeing CLs that were spawned by my side in "cruiser" fight -_-). So, 5 BBs were split as 3 and 2. Admiral is on the biggest one. For balancing purposes, I suppose, in the same squad was added the oldest BB out of all - Ocean class, she was taken as a prize in a war against France. 3rd and 4th lines were Bs, that I never scrap. All of them were refitted to get less bigger guns. After first engagement in the battle, my force was outranged by enemy BCs, so I turned away... Not for long! Enemy BB spotted. We were encircled. My ships were closing in and raining fire. FLASH FIRE enemy BB is down second BB spotted, we fire weapons FLASH FIRE enemy BB is down Me: WTF??? Turning 180 we started to flee... enemy BC spotted! FLASH FIRE poor british souls... remember that french BB? 2 14" hits and he flooded to death remember those legacy Bs? 10-20 heavy 16" hits. Alive and ready to fight next time.

I have never seen such thing before: This is a night convoy attack of my Hochseeflotte against the Italian navy. In the middle a Italian CL rammed a DD. Ok, not so new, not so surprising. But the DD is also Italian! LOL

These guys are really, really good at evacuating. Not only did they manage to get every single member of the crew to the lifeboats, they also succeeded in getting a few hundred men to the lifeboats who weren't even on the ship.

If only the Titanic had been that efficient. Seriously though, I'm guessing that one or more were acting as troop transports?

That would be a plausible explanation.

Heh, brand new world, first *big* battle (3 Bs vs 5 Bs) Everything was good, battleline was fighting a battleline, until I noticed this at support fleet: imgur.com/a/h2BZUNo collision, just scratching sides for an hour...
