I find the design intriguing, but for my part I have been burned on releasing ships to raid such that I never do but with vessels for which I care not a whit, and there my results have been pathetic, even if I have custom designed the "perfect" raider. I won't send a ship out raiding that I value that has a (in my experience) 1 in 6 chance of just being written off for X Y or Z reason. However- But building cruisers to hunt down enemy raiders and sink them is an excellent way to accrue warscore! With this I completely agree.

Due to a treaty limiting ships to 20,000 tons and 12 inch guns (while my latest designs were 36,000 tons with 15" guns), I laid down a couple of 22,000 tons 12" BCs to use as colonial ships. They haven't been completed, so no idea how well they'll work.

This should work. I do realise that I forgot to add funnels in the drawing. I guess a refit will come down the line. They're a touch slower than my 'regular' BCs (26 vs 27). Should make short work of any raiders it catches, and serve as a power projection in colonial areas. The year is 1914, btw.

I did actually end up in a battle with my Indefatigable intercepting an enemy CA. Put simply, the CA was able to score more hits due to my lack of guns, so having at least 6 guns is definitely a must. Your design looks pretty ideal for second-line duties in that regard.
