The pictures are great, Alex. Thanks for that too. Very much appreciated, since great as it is to play a game with working AI and features (and not just eye-candy and broken AI [not naming another game which also models battles of this period])I do need some pictures to help me imagine what's going on, and their absence in many cases in the release of RJW wasn't so good for me. I really like the line drawings. I wish line drawings AND photos were possible, somehow. Perhaps the slot for how the ship appears in game could be used for a photo instead (in future?). I can see them easily enough in game using the little box, or zooming in, after all. How is it that I can just unzip all of this into the custom directory and it works, pictures and all, but to use 'oldpop's lovely photos I have to put them in the directory and then manually load each one via the shipbuilder? I am not speaking for Alex, but here is what I received from FW: .... Remember you must also enter the file name for the class using the DesignShip2 editor for the pic to show up.
I assumed that that meant you had to enter the file name in the picture box at the bottom of the ship design file and save it. I can only assume that Alex entered the information into the ship design files himself before uploading the database to the forum. I could be wrong and maybe there was another way to get the photos to show up. It was certainly time consuming and tedious, to say the least. One last reminder, do not use drawings downloaded from the internet because those are copyrighted. That is what I was told, possibly there something else but that is how I proceeded.
We should all thank Alex for the work, as it is time consuming. Trust me, I had to go through all the SDFs to see which ones required pictures. I can't imagine how much work he had, especially the details.

yes, I agree with you. There is configuration file with global national characteristics (Data\Nations.dat file). For actual time for Russiand AP Shells used "-1" modifier. If we want, we may add some negative value for Japanese AP shells. Initially I wanted to use 0.8 value for Harvey armor, but in the game inch terms it look too low for many ships Thanks I had a look at the data file and note columns entitled 14 - 18; any idea what these refer to (thanks for the tip by the way).
Armour - I tend to find that ships I create with obsolescent armour/guns are not very combat effective at all, so your interpretation may well be a good one.

I have no idea about 14 - 18 columns in Nations.dat file.
Guys, what do you think about Russian 10in/45 guns (Peresvet and Admiral Seniavin class)? The table range of this guns is 9.2 nm (Oushakov - 6.5) and the game range is about 6.7 nm. How do you think is it will be normal to add +2 modifier for all 10in/45 guns (except Oushakov)?

Here is the new update for modification. It's just fixes several issues in pictures and don't change any other. At the end of next week I plan to release the second version of the mod. It will be include all fixes and updated models for other Russian and Japanese ships.

Many values in the table are not used in periods outside 1914-18, for example during the RJW period all guns have a negative penetration modifier as no nation had an effective capped AP shell at the time. Also penetration, range and ROF is reduced for most guns compared to WW1.

Are they not already accurate within theoretical limits? Is there any hard data to support the change is necessary. This is probably a bad time to ask the question, but I am old, and sort of like to know why I am doing these things.
thanks for your patience

The common results of the battle are historical accurate and the game is great. As for me, I want start the game and see the ships with same parametres like in most books. I also want to see the results of the battles between ships with accurate characteristics.

Work on the second version of the mod has already begun. For not to wait while all the changes be done, I will post updates as they become available.
Now I decided to make changes for the Russian artillery:
254/45 - 10inch(+20%) 254/45 - 10inch(-10%) # Ouchakov
Also were updated data for Sokol (Yarrow) class DD, Kamchatka transport and was included missing picture for Bayan CA. All changes can be discussed and we can find a new solution.

As usual to install this update need unzip attachment to Custom Files folder and replace old files I noticed that the Bayan's picture is a drawing. I've have a picture that I thought I had provided. I was led to believe that we could not provide drawings as they are copyrighted. Has this viewpoint changed, because I can upload again the picture of the Bayan.

Bayan is my own drawing! But yes, I use another scheme as basis. If there is a problem with copileft, we can delete all pictures from mod

Running your mod, Alex, I just played through operational Tsushima and was astounded that 6 of my ships fired, between them, 1.189 rounds, to score only 12 hits. I'm curious as to whether your mod affects the gunnery ratings. How do I disable it, so I can test the differences? Do I just replace the present Custom folder with the original which I backed up before installing you? Or do I need to do more? Thanks.

To disable the modification you need to delete all new files from Custom Files or delete this folder and place original instead if you have copy.
