I would like to ask if there will be an option to autoresolve tactical battles?
I enjoy designing ships and organizing operations, and other stuff but occasionally there are times when I am just not in the mood to play tactical battles.
Especially around midnight when I wake up after 5 minutes snoozing that a weaker italian fleet has just destroyed my precious little A H fleet.

I seem to recall an auto-resolve button when a battle comes up. Is that only for raider intercept battles?

Yes, only raider battles can be auto-resolved, although I don't know if it is true I've been told only raider intercepts get it because it is easy to reliably guess the outcome. Whoever has better guns and armour wins, if the weaker ship is faster they escape. For something like coastal raids there are too many factors to account for and too many possible outcomes (dozens of ships each of which can be damaged, sunk, or unscathed).

Just set your flagship to AI control while in Admiral mode, increase the speed, and then come back later and see how it did.

Same as me, but in my case it was my Netherland fleet beating the hell out of last 3 German destroyers... And it was like 5 battles the same, until Germans managed to finish building their new 44 000 ton BC, just for me to sink it with lone 28 000 tons (and 17 years old) BC and then BCs VS MSs battles for like 2 years again... I would really like to have some button to automaticly smash enemy tiny fleets with my brutal force without wasting time...

Thank you for the ideas.

Early destroyer battles and coastal raids are the ones I'd most like to be auto-resolvable. They can get very tedious and the reward is often not worth the effort. Later in wars, I just decline them.

I still find it pretty easy to just switch it back to AI and ignore it for a few more minutes.

I still find it pretty easy to just switch it back to AI and ignore it for a few more minutes. In my case it's not minutes of real time but minutes of game time. That makes it non-viable as I would need to switch back to AI control 200 times to resolve a battle, considerably more time consuming then simply doing so myself. For you it stays for many game time minutes?
