I realise this system is probably still in early development, and that what I'm about to describe is a relatively minor thing, but I figure I should mention it anyway, if only to stop it from bothering me.
In the recent dev log on aircraft procurement and deployment, you showed this picture:
Since it looks like the squadron size and role can both be edited in the same window, why not just streamline the UI slightly by having a single "edit squadron" button instead of separate buttons for each?
EDIT: Also, while I'm here, you mentioned that it takes time for squadrons to upgrade to a new aircraft type; It would be nice to have the ability to prioritise certain squadrons for upgrade, so that, for instance, the large squadrons in airbases in your home area get upgraded before the single plane in the tiny airbase in the middle of nowhere. Possibly a system similar to the one for prioritising research areas, where you set a squadron to high, medium or low priority as appropriate.

I agree a squadron prioritization button will be nice. It may not necessarily be important to prioritize individual carrier squadron, but it will be nice if it can be done between different sea zones.
It might also be interesting for squadrons to be supplied older model of planes if there are excessive combat loss or low stability(which will get updated back to new models given additional time), to simulate the desperate Navy pressing mothballed model or old prototype into service.

Truthfully, I have not taken the time to check which airbases get new plane models first (there's a lot to check on), though it would not surprise me to find that your suggested prioritization is already in place. I doubt there is time to add a manual priority system before release, but I'll add it to our growing list of suggestions.

I definitely support the idea of manual prioritisation of squadron upgrades, I think it's an important quality of life feature. I know it's one thing that I have long felt is sorely missed in HOI 4, by comparison.

That game goes downhill eversince.

I've never played either, but I have played HOI3 and 4, and since those two are based on 3, I wholeheatedly disagree; HOI3 was about as user friendly as a fighter jet.
I should probably point out that, since I'm not a pilot, a fighter jet is not particularly user-friendly.

You're wrong, AoD and DH are based on HoI2. I am 100% sure of that because DH is my most favourite strategy game by far, I've been playing it since I was 13 and I'm 20 now and I still play it. IMHO Darkest Hour is the best of HoI games and one of the best of all Paradox games (along with EU III and VickyII) , especially if you look at all the mods for it. The only weak thing about it is the AI, but after some time you realise that all Paradox games have weak AI. I realise this is off-topic, but I just felt the need to say this, for some reason.

I mean, I still hate HOI3; I'm just assuming that you agree now

Yeah HoI3 is awful, too complicated compared to others in the series but not as complicated as lets say, War in the East. It's stuck halfway between and it can't decide what it wants to be.Plus the AI is by far the worst in the series and the modding scene is mediocre.

faennionI've only heard glowing reviews of DH and I actually own the game, but I never got into the series until HOI 3, and I've preferred and played much more of HOI 4. While I've heard many people make the claim that DH is the best of the bunch, the arguments in its favour have always seemed rather weak to me, and revolved around what I think is the misconception that HOI 4 was 'dumbed down' with front lines and the battle planner. To you and everyone else - what's so good about DH by comparison to HOI 4? I agree that HOI 3 was a poor entry, though, and probably my least favourite of the modern Paradox titles. Too much micromanagement without strategy - I don't know who ever thought it was necessary or helpful to put HQs on the map - and, say what you will about the HOI 4 AI, but HOI 3 was worse.

Thanks.
