Gentlemen, fantastic and valuable brainstorming! One more thing to add, I love the greed for money, but is it really something done with soul and passion if we don't humiliate the player at the same time? I'm thinking something along the line of this: if the player conducts a large-scale battle exceptionally well (based on say, the ratio of earned points), he could get a lootbox that will "randomly" grant him a reward of a 10% discount for the Flattops or the GF DLC! It's one thing abusing them, but I like to see them feeling grateful for that at the same time! Please don’t forget that said discount can still drop even if the player in question already owes the dlc Indeed there should be a 99% chance the discount will drop within hours of purchasing the DLC! At which point a cartoon admiral appears on screen to frown and shrug at the player.

I just had a brilliant idea thanks to a disaster in the English Channel- the AI should get a "drop" if the player botches a fight, who will then be required to pay $1.99 for the "next turn" button to work.

This thread... lol.
Treading closer to dangerous waters, what about a purchase package that will give you the first 7 of the planned 39 DLC expansions?

The shortcut lootbox for 1.99. Main price (with lowest chance) would be stuff like "shortcut to cancel move orders in strategic mode" or "continue real time in combat scenario" or even "change division speed with button + mousewheel". And then the deluxe edition for double the game release price which has a shortcut macro editor.
PS: I would seriously consider buying such a deluxe edition with shortcut macros and scenario editor.

I'll just take the plunge, then.
Come on, folks, we're all thinking it - and hoping it doesn't happen! But there is an UNPARALLELED opportunity for the designers and publishers to enrich themselves at the expense of the gaming community, if they are willing to part with a few little things like dignity and decency! As usual, garrisonchisholm has pointed the way - but even he has not seen the logical conclusion of his thinking!
Selling save slots? Piffle. Let's go straight to the 'garrison': a standard, perpetual fee of $.99 that must be paid eaxh and every time the player wants to use the Next Turn or Save Button. Think of the money that could be made before the customers all walk away... think of applying it to every game in the UNIVERSE until players GIVE IN AND PAY! HAHA! HAHAHA! HAHHHAHAAHAHHHAAAAHHAHAH! MY EVIL PLAN CANNOT...
...what? Already exists? MMORPG? Huh. Next you'll tell me that we can buy and sell add-ons amongst ourselves like a larger caliber gun, or dual torpedo tu...
Online? Really? Huh. I have been asleep for awhile...
Well... How about the 'country of the week' DLC? The base game can come with Austria (only), with one additional country released every four months for the low, low price of only $5 more than the base game costs. It can include a new color and a half-dozen new ship designs, and unlock new areas on the ma...
Been done? Huh. Maybe I need to take some refresher classes in Marketing Evil for Fun and Profit. That Dr Evil has some interesting online... Huh. Flew away in a rocket? Wow.
Um, maybe the moderators can just, you know, DELETE this post? And don't go paying any attention to the rest of the gaming world. Please.

I think there will be special Free box.
You get game completely free but you need to pay design fee for every design in game.
Who will beat game by destroyers only?

Yep, and on top of that, implement something pseudo-historical like the 12'' battlecruiser belt restriction for every class, call it "historically accurate" and offer loot boxes relaxing those restrictions.
Eg The US is not allowed to research usable radar themselves (because they did not do so historically). They can only steal it or buy it from an ally (but you can unlock radar research with a loot box).

You mean you can unlock radar research if you collect all 12 pieces of the reward, each having a 1% chance of dropping per loot box. (Oh, and each piece is unique, so an individual piece has a 1/12 of 1% chance of dropping 😉)
