Odd/interesting designs made to work.

So, I've been experimenting with out of the box designs in RTW recently, and discovered that this:

is a perfectly valid if pretty gimped predreadnought design.  In fact you could probably make it work better built in British of French docks for the extra 1000 tons, and made cramped and short ranged if playing a country like Germany or AH that can get away with that type of ship.  In fact the did the bulk of the fighting in this battle result:

And for the extra derpyness they could theoretically be refitted to 27knts without worrying about the "hull form does not allow for higher speeds error"

Yah, I am trying to use Imgur as others on this forum do, but can't figure it out...I am somewhat of a luddite when it comes to internet things

edit: I just used the classic add attachments cause I know how to do that.

Use "get share link" and than "BBCode (Forums)". This can be dropped directly into text.

In my current Japan game I made a pre-dreadnought with a 24 cannon 10-inch secondary armament (twin turret) and a 2 cannon 15-inch main battery (single turret, this was built in Britain since they had the gun tech). I'm playing with varied tech and apparently double/triple turrets suck now so I decided to be a bit experimental, and this thing has been quite the success. I fought a fleet battle with Russia with 2 of these and I guess they had low deck armor because spamming shells like a madman resulted in two of their battleships dying of a million splinters and a third one heavily damaged. Pretty hilarious if I say so myself, I might fiddle with this idea later in the game with a BC...

just a note a week ago i tried to post a pic on this forum using imgur it didn't work either.  if you click on the down arrow in imgur for links, copy "Share Link BBCode (Forums)" and paste that directly into the post (no need to 'insert image on this forum) it seems to work fine

kidcharlemagne, if double and triple turrets are less effective than singles, why did you make your secondary turrets doubles? i don't know if that event applies to secondaries, but i assume so as that event has never been fully explained

For those wondering why their images weren't working, you must understand the difference between a page containing an image and the image itself. If you right click the broken links and select "View Image" it will take you to the source page, which is an imgur post. However, notice that this is the entire page, not just the image (note the url). Thus attempting to link it to the thread via the "Insert Image" tool doesn't work, because you're trying to display an entire webpage.

But, if we right click upon the image and select "View Image", you get taken to this:

This is a "pure" image, again note the URL, which now ends in a image format. Placing that URL in the "Insert Image" tool will result in...

if double and triple turrets are less effective than singles, why did you make your secondary turrets doubles?

I'm about 80% sure it doesn't affect secondaries, especially considering how effective my design has been. If secondaries are affected though, then that event might not actually have that much impact anyway.
