He-he. He.
Anyway, earlier we had a topic what got esentially immediately closed when it turned out that the flag of the nazi Germany will not make it into the game (which is I think the right decision), and I started to ask about how equally will this notion be enforced - for example, my country - and just about half of Europe - sanctions virtually any representation of the communist symbols by law. So I thought if we are playing by the law and ethical standpoints (which is - again - the right way), I will be curious iwhat will happen regarding that. After all, NWS showed us that there is nothing wrong with protecting one's intellectual integrity. But I don't want to press this too much for now as offtopic; we'll go trough this gate when we get there. Edit: Now that I think about it, in garrison's screenshots I vaguely remember them being represented by a red star. If that's the case, good enough. It still breaks my country's law, but it's better than the hammer and sickle I guess.
So things which should not be in the game, technically. Swastika. Hitler. Stalin. Hammer and Sickle. Hirohito. Rising Sun. WW2 without WW2 people, noice. ;D

I believe the image being used is the 1920s Soviet naval ensign, which is actually a red star with the hammer and sickle inside it, so it may very well be banned in your country.

WW2 without WW2 people, noice. ;D I am afraid you severely misread me. I am not fighting against symbols, for all I care, all of them could be present. I am fighting against getting the moral high ground on one hand, and not giving a rats *** about people's losses and cultural/historical background on the other hand. Now it's clear, right? It's either everyting or nothing.
Fair enough. I do not wish to torch down the company for this, but if that's the case, I will mod out that for my AARs on the forum.
...or mod the Kriegsmarine back.

No no no, I completely understand you. Just making a joke. ;P I agree, all, or nothing.

Like several others, Rule the Waves 2 is my most anticipated game in years.
So yes, I will be buying it at the earliest convenient opportunity, despite my unhappiness over having to jump additional hurdles to get the game to work (compared to, for example, Kerbal Space Program, Rimworld, or my entire gog.com library), AND the risk that a company suffering a sudden existence failure may result in me no longer having access to the game I paid for (again. Heard of Desura recently?).
Heck, the latter reason for my unhappiness is so significant because I fully expect to revisit the game for years to come!

Sykes.. one email for one code, no "hurdles".
If we ever decide to stop supporting RTW2 (unlikely for a very long time) we would likely cut the APS loose.
Thanks

I have the money ready and i planed buy it first day but after DRMgate i am going to move it to the "wait and see" list and only because i like SAI/RJW/RTWs and i want see you expanding naval series to pre-steam period (or even create a RTWs set in WWI air combat) because with other title i sure put it in "dont touch even with a stick".

I would prefer not to buy it on the first day. I'd prefer to pre-purchase! but since that is not an option this go-round, I'll be buying on the first day.
My only question is when. 9am? noon?

If not on the first day, then pretty close to it, as I'll be working and might not be around when it comes out. DRM is... a bit annoying, but not a dealbreaker. At least it doesn't sap resources just because the game is open.

I'm going to buy it Day 1, and if I need to install it on a 3rd computer I can just download the crack.
NWS was always going to get my money, it's the would-be new customers they're losing.

What happens with DRM If I upgrade my PC? AFAIK the DRM thing will detect is a NEW Pc and don't let me play, so I will need to ask for a new key, right?

What happens with DRM If I upgrade my PC? AFAIK the DRM thing will detect is a NEW Pc and don't let me play, so I will need to ask for a new key, right? my understanding (which may be wrong) When you first download the game you'll be given a certain amount of time, lets say 72 hours, to put in the key or the game will stop working. You play as soon as it downloads. my understanding (again, which may be wrong) is that part of the game will generate a code for you based on your computer. You then e-mail the provided e-mail address with your code. The dev then runs your code through his hash salter (you can see some computerphile videos on how hashes and salting a hash works) and it provides him with a new code he e-mails that code back to you. this is the code you need to unlock the game. If you got a new computer, you'd then grab that original download file, open it up again, and, because this is a new computer, be given another 72 hours to do this process over again. again, I may be wrong about all of this, but that's my understanding of what I've heard so far.

At least it doesn't sap resources just because the game is open. This is me as well. It's a busy weekend for me but I should be able to find some game time; I've even drawn a little battleship on my wall calendar for 4/25 . And I've got nothing to add about DRM that hasn't been beaten to death here and then a thousand times more on the rest of the internet.
