So, I just had a battle where my 21kn dreadnought intercepted a raiding 30kn cruiser. No way I could win that, right?
Yeah, my battleship's very first 14" half-salvo punched straight through the main belt armour and into the engine room.
All skill, no luck.

Hmm. Literally every single stat is better. I'm really not sure if I should buy it.
I really hope it gets decent reliability...

Uh... sorry, Italy?
Night-time encounter between my 2 battleships and an enemy battleship and seaplane tender. I fired torpedoes at this guy, but I guess I didn't need to. Shame she was an old ship (it's 1929).

Yeah, the reliability was better too.
On a side note, yes, I realise the previous design was 8 years old, but I hadn't had a better offer until this one.
Incidentally, I am planning to wait and see the reliability of the Hs 153, purely because of that extra range (which I consider to be the most important quality of a flying boat, closely followed by reliability).

A few (in-game) years ago, there was a treaty banning submarines. These are the first I've built since the ban was lifted. I'm quite impressed at how nicely it lined up.

Single plane attacks my BC, gets shot down 2.5x "Stop! Stop! He's already dead!" Whenever an enemy plane goes down, every AA gunner who could see it in the sky claims the kill

View AttachmentSingle plane attacks my BC, gets shot down 2.5x "Stop! Stop! He's already dead!" In meele combat in Skyrim, I remember, on mulitiple occasions, wailing on the corpse of an enemy for several seconds after he was dead because the health bar for enemies was fairly inconspicuous and dead enemies ragdolled rather than having an identifiable death animation. Similarly, in high-realism combat flight sims, it can be difficult to tell if an enemy plane is able to continue flying or not. Snipe the pilot, and there's no external indication of anything wrong until the plane is in a steep dive close to the ground and doesn't try to recover. For other hard-to-identify kills, there's at least a good chance that the pilot will bail, but not every kill involves a wing or tail coming off, and many of the visible signs of external damage are inconclusive: A plane that's trailing smoke may continue to fly for quite a while.

Hey, America, are you sure that's a heavy cruiser?

How on earth do you fire a quadruple torpedo launcher at a stationary destroyer from a range of less than 2000 yds...
...and miss?

Conclusive proof that there's no such thing as overkill. Because carriers don't do that enough.

"Don't mind me - just passing through!" That long straight line's a predreadnought battleship and its escorts (a CL and two DDs) passing through the battle area while two of my battlecruisers fought an enemy battlecruiser and an old armored cruiser along with their escorts (two CLs and seven DDs on their side, two CLs and ten DDs on my side). I guess they just didn't notice the gunfire or never received a sighting report from the battlecruiser force or something.
11,000 tons is a fairly large cruiser and 5x3x6" is a fairly heavy armament. If you ignore the fairly arbitrary historical classification based on gun caliber, yes, I'd be willing to call that a heavy cruiser.
