This is the official bug report thread for the release version of Rule the Waves 2.
PLEASE POST ONLY WHAT YOU BELIEVE TO BE ACTUAL BUGS/ISSUES IN THIS THREAD. THERE WILL BE A SEPARATE THREAD FOR SUGGESTIONS FOR RTW2.
Thanks!
How to enter an RTW2 bug
Bugs can be difficult to track down unless there is sufficient information to allow the developer to recreate the issue. Every bit of additional information you can provide helps. If you can, please answer as many of the questions below as possible when you enter a bug, it will make it much more likely that we can solve the issue.
When did you start the game - 1900 or 1920? What nation were you playing? Were there any start options that were not the default? Describe the issue in detail. What were you doing when the bug occurred? What did you expect to happen and how was the result you saw different than you expected. Can you describe how to reproduce the bug?
What version of the game were you playing (v1.00, v1.01, etc)?
If the bug describes an issue with being unable to start or run the game, please include: Installation location Operating system
Visuals are always useful. Please feel free to attach any images that help describe the issue. It might be useful to attach a saved game. The best way to do this is to zip up the entire save game directory (e.g. Game4) into a single zip file and attach it to your post.

Posting here as the main bug reporting thread hasn't been opened yet. No problems with demo but release would not start on my laptop, gave an message "(error: 00000002) Unable to obtain lock!" It seems to be specific to my laptop, MacBook Pro 12,1 running Windows 10 build 17763. Same also, iMac 4K retina running bootcamp windows 10 I'm getting the same error, but on a desktop running Windows 10 natively. I've tried running as admin and uninstalling and reinstalling, but to no avail.

Reposting from the beta bug thread for clarity's sake:
Release version: It seems game and historical budgets give you same starter fund and same budgets (e.g. with Austria and Japan).
Repro should be obvious.

I'm getting the same error, but on a desktop running Windows 10 natively. I've tried running as admin and uninstalling and reinstalling, but to no avail. What folder did you install the game in muir ? C:\NWS\Rule the Waves 2 The folder was placed in whatever location the installer defaulted to, I didn't really do much besides run the installer and agree to the license terms.

Try installing it into the "Program Files(x86)" folder, see if that makes any difference (and run it with admin permission).

A bit of weirdness with 1900 start AI generation. Attached picture is a ship that spawned in from my ally. Checking the almanac its an 1899 design with above-water tubes and a bunch of light AA guns which AFAIK should not be possible.

Followed your instructions above, but setup won't let me change the installation path!

I uninstalled and reinstalled in Program Filex(x86) and ran as admin, got the same error.

For some strange reason when I click the "Design Ship" button the window won't come up. I can't build a legacy fleet or any new designs.
Edit: I can't even open the ship designs of ships that were in the legacy fleet.
