Those with RTW2, what can you tell us

Not everyone can get the game today due to various issues; so if you have it, what can you tell us about it? What new things do you find exciting? What is there that's unexpected? What surprises are there?

After some trouble getting the setup to run because my antivirus didn't trust it (shut off absolutely all antivirus and then start it) I got it running. Went to start a game as Spain and found that they are not in the release version, right now so I started one as Austria Hungary in 1900 and got to fortifying Dalmatia with new 9" batteries. Then I developed a 900ton corvette as a colonial gunboat, specifically so that if war breaks out I can put them on patrol.

So far I actually really like KE conceptually. Cheaper than DD they can still mount solid guns (mine mount 4x4" guns with 1.5" armor, so they're better conventuals armed than legacy DDs, cheap, and take up more tonnage. Plus they're colonial enabled just in case I get lucky. The only downside is no torps and their slower than DDs, but I could oild actually still see them as useful screens for Bs in combat just because of their guns.

It is 3:37 am here though so I will have more to report tomorrow.

First game as Italy with a 1900 start.


Biggest imporvement so far are the additional bases/locations, combined with manually targetd invasions they make the game much more interesting in the Mediterranean, and give a reason to actually wage war on the Austro/Hungarian Empire.

There are a couple issues we're having with the 1900 start that weren't in the first game, like wonky legacy fleet generation and the AI building ships it shouldn't be able to. I haven't gotten to much of the new content yet to pass a verdict on that.

I have been reading the thread about bugs reporting.
What do you think about the state of the game as of today? Is it worth buying it right now or should I wait a little bit more?

Am doing a Japan 1900 start. Legacy fleet generation yielded slightly overweight designs among my pre-dreadnoughts. Just started a war with Germany which offered me the chance for a surprise invasion of the German-controlled Shantung peninsula. However, there were no transports in my strike formation, so am not sure whether I have invaded or not. I only have a 350 mile invasion range and I likely exceed that from my starting bases. MTF as I play through.

The game has some issues at present. Fredrik has promised an update in a few days, likely with more to follow. That's not to mention the difficulty people are having with the store.

Anyway tried to purchase three times, two different credit cards, and it just will not allow me to complet the purchase.
This never happened to me using pay pal. Im not in my country right now, so first Ill try in the hotel, then tomorrow once I get home.

Concluded my war with Germany...lasted like 9 months or so and was undecisive, with a no gains/no losses peace though I won most of the battles and was constantly urging my political leadership to keep at them, but to no avail. They chickened out and sued for peace. Turns out, I did launch an invasion of Germany's China concession and actually seized control of it, but to no avail. Now I have to make do with a vastly reduced budget, though also a placid international climate, right when my fleet was poised to go on the offensive! Well, guess I will slowly re-tool with new fire control and await developments. Have a number of pre-dreadnoughts on the way, right when they are becoming outdated--ugh!

Question: if you take the Russia 1900 start, will my country convert to the Soviet Union at some point through an event?

I wanna start as Russia and then as the Soviet Union after the revolution, in the same save. I like to be able to edit the legacy fleet and see all the research develop from the start
