The game startup registration has a "send codes" button but this >only< activates the OS default mail app which I >don't< use and don't want to link accounts to it. Since this is as far as it gets I dont see the email nor content of the message it is trying to send to put in my actual email service.
I've sent a starter message to warshipfc@yahoo.com with a reference # for my purchase order.
I see we are supposed to be emailing a staff member but that message didn't include the email.
What is the procedure to activate for those of us who don't use the OS mail app?
P.S. Suggest adding the instructions for alternate method to the game's registration page.
P.P.S.
Seeing a 3 day limitation and having this delay is making me a bit nervous but hopefully this will be figured out in time.

Well that almost works...
Christopher Dean email link does the same thing opening the local OS email app, which people like us can't use in the first place
I did send the red codes to williammiller as that is a forum text message.

Once you do get an email response it may or may not appear confusing, especially if it only contains the codes in what at first will appear to be one continuous string. It took me awhile, but everything needed is really there.
Here's what I wrote in another thread. Hopefully it will help deciphering things:
EDIT: Just figured this out, so here's a sort of guide for anyone getting a response that just contains letters/numbers like I did. The Serial Number is the first part of the string you'll receive, 18 characters separated by dashes (example - XXXX-XXXX-XX-XXXX-XXXX) the Activation Code follows that, and contains 32 characters separated by dashes in groups of 8 (example - XXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXX will likely start with an "A"). I found this out after more experimentation, and have created a small text file for myself that tells me what group of characters is what. It's all a question of counting the characters (not including dashes). The key is first 18=serial number, second 32=activation code.

hmmm and seems they were telling about this from the begining. Though its going to happen that amid the masses some folks miss things or start take a debug/correction path that meanders before getting to: Also, when you wish to activate your game, if the "Send Code" button does not work for you for some reason you can click the above email link and manually copy the SITE and MID codes from the activation screen into the email, put "Site/MID code for Rule The Waves 2" in the subject line and then send it. From the oft linked in this thread nws-online.proboards.com/thread/2079/rule-waves-2-on-saleAnyway, sent another email now with the correct subject line. I can easily imagine he set up an auto-filter to divert registration emails to an urgent folder and might not see my (or from others) general call for help Thank you to various forum members helping us out.
