Playing as Japan when I got one of those events where a private company offers a prototype for evaluation. I take a look and get an idea. Its slower and less maneuverable than my current model, however it does have almost twice the range and I can carry a bomb. What if I split my fighter complement on carriers between strike fighters that have longer range and can carry bombs or later on heavier bombs and the other half are more short-range dogfighters for CAP and short-range escort. My problem/question here is: can I force the game to try and equip a squadron with a specific model of aircraft because right now almost all carrier are using the new strike fighters probably because its newer.

This was one of my biggest requests and it honestly feels like an egregious oversight if it is indeed not possible. What is the point of all these traits if you can't customize the dispersion of them? If I have a dive bomber with long range and good speed, and another that's tough as nails with a heavy bomb load,I sure as hell have a place in mind for each one.
