Playing the Jutland Dawn custom scenario I spent a lot of effort unsuccessfully deploying the five German BCs against the last remaining Lion after the other two blew up. At the end of the game I was surprised to see this. 50 heavy hits, three turrets destroyed, but the game things the ship is undamaged! I note no ammo has been expended despite scoring 4 hits at less than 1% hit rate!

Changing column for deployment doesn't work. The selected column goes to the head of the list, but the lead ship does not become the flagship. The square flag and flotilla attack button stay with the original lead division. All is OK until twilight when the leads ship ceases to be in sight of the old flagship, and things then go horribly wrong!

Now back at my PC here is a saved game. I have had to manually reorder the divisions as they would no longer follow the lead division after it was no longer in sighting range of the rear division.
The scenario is a modification of the Jutland scenario I have been working on to extend the game into the night battle and possible encounter at dawn.

BTW, isn't there another potential problem? If the deployment is to the opposite wing to the lead ship, the player manually sets out the division order, but if the lead division is eliminated in combat, the lead will go to the next division in the list which will now be at the rear of the fleet. When changing the lead division the player needs to also be able to reorder the OOB to avoid this happening.

Good point!
I am listing all bug reports for future fixing, but there will not be any updates to SAI for a while. I am currently working on the SAI Shipbuilder campaign (No name decided yet), where the player controls budget, shipbuilding, research etc of a nation in the WW1 era. The player designs and constructs his own ships, and then when war comes it will play out in something like a normal SAI campaign.

Whilst you are collecting bugs. Just had all of the 2nd Battle Squadron destroyed or disabled in a long and hard engagement. the attached CL, HMS Caroline then became fleet lead ship. One way round this is to ensure all scenarios only have cruisers set out below the battle divisions etc. But the alternative is to ensure that only capital ship divisions can be lead division until all are damaged beyond a certain level.

Thanks for the support! It is really only on an Alpha stage right now, sort of proof of concept, but I will post teasers as soon as there is anything to show.

Another saved game to demonstrate that the minefield bug is still with us. Did Titanic hit an iceberg? Or was it one of Rostock's mines? Attachment Deleted
