Requests to the developers (who are we kidding: these are for Fredrik and maybe William!).
There could be assistance from the community to change the game for some of the community's liking. Fredrik is very busy bug-squashing and working on some proposed improvements. Why not let a mod community help!
These are requests that will allow or help facilitate modders to interact with the game, in order to create some of the content that people are interested in. "Help us, help you!" [to paraphrase Jerry Maguire]
1) Ability to interact with the monthly routine somehow (API, data file, ...) for in-game pop-up decision windows, informational windows (like the new research ones), and the monthly log. - if Fredrik doesn't want to develop something like an API, maybe an monthly_input.txt box that is structured in a manner he decides For instance:
# montly_input.txt
information="Information text here";picture.png
decision="Decisive explanation here.";"Option 1"{modifier1=+1, modifier2=+3};"Option 2"{modifier1=-1, modifier3=+1}
monthly_log="This text in the monthly log report list." This file can be read in whenever the user presses "End Turn" (or "Next Month" whatever it is named). The appropriate boxes will be added to the decisions, info pop-ups, and end-month log. The modifiers can be the obvious ones (prestige, tension of Nation1-7, budget, funds, etc.)

Ability to check for an alternative battle resolution method.When the game prepares to generate the .SAC file for the battle, instead let it check to see if a mod requests an alternative battle resolution method. There is a specific set of data communicated from the RtW strategic engine to the SAI combat engine, and also in reverse. If this data is made available to modders, it will allow: - Modders can take RtW data and run their own battle resolution. I already fake this with my own Auto-Resolve Simulator, but it's very messy.
- Modders can generate battles for SAI, allowing things like multiplayer (feeding SAI to two player's fleets and running it on AI control).
I'd alternatively settle for Fredrik adding my Auto-Resolve directly into the game as a combat resolution option. I'm happy to release to him the source code! (Once it is done for RtW2 )

I would love to see a battle auto-resolve feature. Think it would make the game so much better!!!
