Which reminds me, whenever I start the Bogskär custom scenario from the old forum, at scenario start I get loads of warning messages telling me that what seems like almost the entire Russian fleet is starting on land. As far as I can see when playing the Russians, they aren't.

I tried a few times to play the scenario about the Goeben raid against the French. It seems very challenging for the German player if the he tries to bombard both Philippeville and Bona. Instead it seemed to me that the french troopships always follow the same direct course. In this case it is rather easy for the Goeben to ambush them and then move away in the night. A small addition. The name of one of the troopships should be La Couronne.

In any case the scenario is slated for revision/updating using the SAI v1.6 executable, probably for uploading after SAI-RJW is released. Thanks.

A small addition. The name of one of the troopships should be La Couronne. As written in the scenario notes, it does not appear as though de Lapeyrere formulated his plan with the very fast Goeben and Breslau (relative to the fleet speed of the French squadrons) as possible threats. The mission was to get XIX Corps troops to France in the shortest possible time. If the German player opts solely for the transports he can generally win against the AI. XIX Corps should not be confused with the French Army of Africa as the former was composed of three divisions of long-service professional white, colonial troops and was probably the most powerful formation in the entire Army. Getting the Corps to its deployment area in the Fourth Army by M+14 was absolutely vital to the French mobilization plan so I considered it probable that the transport captain's sailing alone would take the shortest, most direct route to Toulon and trust that the Navy would protect them. The Army of Africa comprised Algerian, Tunisian, Moroccan and Senegalese units (and the Foreign Legion) and were transported to France later. Thanks for the info on La Couronne.
