That's me done for now. If someone wants to contact me about making a mod for putting these in game, lmk.

Nice work! We need to incorporate into the mod a way to allow the adding of more artwork for various pieces so the community can contribute to the collection for even more variation.
How would this work, having standardized 'attachment points' that all pieces 'snap' together at those points so we can use various parts? Hrmmm. I dunno. GL!

Standardised points would make the most sense for autogen but the ship builder doesn't have auto-gen. You just drop shapes on top of other shapes and that's basically what I've done here using paint.

Turns out it doesn't take me long at all. Also, that twin engine torpedo bomber is definitely one of the dumbest things I've ever drawn. Then you have drawn many highly intelligent things. :] This is wonderful! Start a folder on your desktop, with luck we'll have use for these!!

So the question is, with all of hmssophia's hard work now here, what do we DO with it?

Yes. *fingers; strum, strum, strum..." Well. We need a device like the Ship Profile creator, that will present the parts to the player, allow them to be assembled and then saved as an image. The parts need to be tied to Air Tech and Shipboard Handling tech to determine which are available when. The image then created needs to be attached to the aircraft data line, so that when clicked/double-clicked it will pop up an Aircraft Card akin to a Ship Card. How we do this is beyond me. I just like food, you guys are the cooks.
If we get *that* working, then the extras come, creating tables to convert Speed, firepower, etc. into engines providing HP and attached to a national manufacturer just for added flavor. If someone Really has time on their hands maybe we can extrapolate quasi realistic stats that are not in the game at all, but that players would like to see. Weight, Time to Climb, type of armament, etc.

I always love games that give me data that is based on ingame stats, irrelevant to gameplay, but fun&cool to look at. Much like the Demographics tab in Civ 5 telling you stuff like GDP, Grain produced, literacy rates etc.

*casts risky invocation spell...* Nuno dos Santos, are you present? Do you know of a way the Ship Parts addition could be appropriated for an Aircraft Parts add-on?...

Before you awaken true professionals like Nuno dos Santos, galagagalaxian or ccip, here is my lazy amateur temporary suggestion: - In shipParts folder in set2 or 3 add all hull parts as 1 blue pixel. (It's a need, as game seem try to generate hull anyway even if you don't ask) - add air parts you want to use as "Accessoriesâ„–/name" - while generating hull of any ship, choose this set and "no guns", as well as "no funnels" option. - build plane from parts you've added, using "accessories" part of generator! - Don't forget to rename finished picture. Here is ugly example from Japanese parts I've made for quick experiment: Parts from hmssophia should be muuuch better for this, of course

Zounds. hmssophia, can you use your parts to prototype and see if this is a viable methodology? Gornik, Kudos. Bravo.

You don't need to put the airplane parts into a ShipParts folder or have a complete set of ship parts with them; you can just store them somewhere on your computer and have them named something like AccessoriesPlaneFuselage1.bmp and it'll work if you click the Accessories ... button and navigate to wherever you have them stored.
