First off what to do I mean by supercharges? They were a larger explosive payload used by the British (and maybe others) that increased the range and speed of a projectile. But at the cost of barrel wear, typically British barrels operated well thin material safety limits so the extra load wasn't a massive issue, but as velocity increases so does wear.
And this could be interesting to see in game, as a limited capacity, say 10% of ammo load. Included as a checkbox on each ship of 12 inch+ caliber. This could give those guns a bit more punch and a bit more range when needed, at the cost of a bit higher maintenance.

These shell also have issues with accuracy, especially in the case of Italian 15in shells. So that could be modelled as well. This does feel like a good toggle idea that can be used to give old ships some punch, or make smaller caliber main gun a bit more viable for later game.
I think -Accuracy and + maint cost(esp at war) vs. +Pen +Range is a pretty fair trade off.
