According to the manual (page 14):
"Attention to detail: Ships are less likely to have hidden defects or vulnerabilities." So less unexpected stuff that can go wrong.

based on manual description it probably means less chance to go boom(less turret fires/mag explosions), less chance for design flaws like overweight or below design speed, and more reliable turrets
