This MUST be rectified. If it can’t be tuned to work corectly (seem to be the case) remove the hard block and replace it with a warning.
1. Playing as as japanese, I lose waaaay more destroyers to enemy fire while running back and forth along the enemy waiting to be allowed to release my torps than I would ever lose to an accidental friendly torp. 🤬 Frustration!
2. Still! ...it’s completly possible to torp your own ships. 🤪
This makes the game (almost unplayable) (edit) - VERY FRUSTRATING to play.

It's playable, it just requires better DD tactics, and the occasional eyeroll. Line ahead, court passing engagements alongside enemy ships, and engage with only one DD division at a time - it's not perfect, but I can fire maybe 90% of the time.
Still, I voted to make it a warning.

The big thing I'd like to see is for the conflict to be illustrated: The path of the torpedo should be shown, along with the path of the interfering ship and the position of either at closest approach.
In general, the firing solution should always be shown whether there's a valid shot or not, so that it's easier to tell whether a refusal to launch is because of a valid conflict (fouled range, out of arc), or a bug.

Seems I've been hit (and seen others on YouTube playthroughs) by friendly AI ships enough to know that this warning only applies to Captains Mode. Warn me, but if my ships are going to be hit by friends I'll shoot myself, thank you. "Push that plunger, Petty Officer Dudley, and put those fish in the water!"
Heck, I've been locked in a collision and had "Friendly ships in line of fire". (Exaggerated Shrug)
As a side note, wouldn't it be neat if the player could adjust the torpedo's firing line like we can adjust the Scouting Arcs? Aim 'em ourselves as it were.
