1) Carrier/land base aircraft start in the air after some (relatively early) carrier tech. The main advantage of aircraft are SA and persistence (part of the strike force can be ready at all times). Currently all aircraft start on the ground not ready to fly at time 0, which is a massive and ahistorical nerf to air units. After 1940ish battles should start with air contact and reduce the ability of fast battleships to teleport into the enemy fleet and oneshot everything with radar/EO director blindfire.
2) Aircraft visibility circles on tactical map/better GUI. Currently they are almost invisible to the player and blink in and out of view, furthermore the space they have under observation are not apparent to the player. Since they move in formations something like the CMANO graphics which display direction might be an improvement.
3) Night operations should also be possible after the middle part of carrier operation technologies. Especially by the endgame night flights by coastal aviation is routine and night carrier flights a common practice. This is also another carrier nerf in favor of fast battleships, especially in the current battle generator which likes to start all battles right at sunset.
