v1.0x Different Nations, ...
Issue___________:
Manual states: "DD and KE assigned to trade protection will be on ASW patrols or assigned as convoy escorts. Cruisers assigned to trade protection will patrol against enemy raiders and provide heavy convoy escort. ... AMC:s can be used on trade protection patrols and if you have invented Q-ships, they can surprise and sink enemy submarines."
Game generates (very unfrequently):
"thwarts raider attack"-messages [v1.06]
Raider interception battle [v1.0? - latest version on 2019-06-03]
The manual implies that - AMCs behave like DD/KE, not CL/CA if set to (TP).
- ships set to (R) are not doing trade protection
Yet, the game seems to use activly raiding AMCs in TP checks.

The manual states the following about trade protection: Nothing in that says that AMCs should behave like DDs and KEs when assigned to trade protection duties, and searching the manual for "AMC" and "Armed Merchant Cruiser" does not turn up any such statements.
Also, note the name - Armed Merchant Cruiser. AMCs are cruiser-type vessels, and were historically intended for and used in cruiser roles when better cruiser-type vessels were unavailable or unnecessary well into the period in which they acted as ASW escorts and honey traps. The reason that the game says that "cruisers may be necessary if raiders are about" after "the most cost effective ships for trade protection are destroyers, corvettes, and small armed merchant cruisers" is not that AMCs in general will be used like DDs and KEs but rather that the small AMCs mentioned as cost-effective trade protection units are usually not very combat-effective trade protection units.

Thanks for your informative remarks.
You may have overlooked the fact that I'm not talking about AMC set to (TR)ade protection.
I'm talking about AMC that are set to (R)aiding, which nevertheless act as trade protection.

In colonies raiders (R) are recalled to anyother important duty in that area including trade protection (TR). I remember it is stated somewhere in manual.

"The Mediterranean" is "colonies" for the Italians?

What do you expect to happen when one raiding warship stumbles upon another? They just ignore each other and move on, even if one is attacking a merchant friendly to the other?
Raiding warships disrupting hostile raider activities seems fairly reasonable to me.
