I would like to see it go back to the 1860s! ;-)

Likewise, I would vote for going back in time rather than forward, especially if we could play a continuous campaign from the late 1800s to 1925 The trouble with going forward, at least continuously, is that World War I had reshaped both naval warfare and the world in general in a very profound way. A 1920-1945 campaign would be very cool - but if it went 1900-1945, I think you'd quickly enter very speculative territory unless World War I somehow still happens. Meanwhile, the way things played out over the course of the late 19th century is fairly stable and could smoothly lead into the current RTW timeline!

Also post WW1 naval development and construction was framed by the Washington Treaty. That means post 1925 would be a completely different world without the treaty. The treaty was of course dictated by reduced national budgets.

I recently ordered the CD version. But as I just ordered it Saturday night it hasn't arrived yet. No I am not impatient. Ok I am. Looking forward to playing soon.

Haggar, I very recently mailed Chris (NWS store owner/operator) another batch of RtW CD-ROMs, so you should get one fairly soon - the demand for the game is rather greater then we had expected, the initial run was exhausted in less than two weeks!

If I order the CD version do I get a download version as well so I can start playing? Genjeft, Welcome to the forums! Our policy at this time is to keep download and CD-ROM versions completely separate, partially because we have to manually handle the orders and the serial numbers for everything....perhaps in the near future that might be an option however. Thanks!

Thanks! Hello Williammiller. Fair enough, that makes things easy. I just got the download version so I dont have to wait for shipping. I can always put the installer on a flash drive for backup or something. I just like having a physical device to put it on just in case the world ends and I find myself playing my games between feverishly trying to find gasoline for my generator. I will probably do a youtube series on this game at my channel www.youtube.com/channel/UCUVXdCqA1UopPMRZ1ehQLpQ once I figure out how it works.
