I will like to ask about the possibility of a Steam and Iron 2, based in RTW2 gameplay, that's it post WW1 ships, technologies, and aviation. Now that RTW2 is pretty well advanced, some patches released and everyone happy playing it, I feel is a good moment to make the devs start thinking about the chancesof developing it. The hability to play battles, both historical and quick designed would be very nice, cause not always you have the time to play RtW2, or simply want to play a certain historical battle or confront certain nations and ships, a S&I2 is what we need.
Of course I know it will take some time, but maybe the devs have already tought about it. I wonder If owners of BOTH titles RTW2 and S&I2 could link their games somehow so battles with the RTW2 designs could be played in S&I2. My 2 cents.
Now that I started the war, I will retire to my corner and see what you guys think.

That would be great. Count me in. WW II is where it's at as far as I am concerned.

SAI2 would be more fun if the Germans actually had a navy, lol.
That said, being able to fight the War in the Pacific out in SAI2 would be fantastic.

One thing I'd like to see in RTW2 to support any SAI2 would be the ability to "record" the operations in a given sea zone in an RTW war as an SAI operational campaign.

might be interesting to have something similar to the RtW campaign except no random wars - build/get your legacy fleet and build up for WW I, have the 1914-1918 war frame locked in with your success determining your budget for the inter-war period, and WW II starting in 1939 with the game ending when that war is finished
it would be nice if it had the SAI style of longer battles for it as well
regardless, anything SAI is likely a looong ways away

I think the fact that war can break out at any time is an important aspect of RTW2. I just wish the wars weren't symmetrical in terms of wargoals.

I would love a SAI II built around the Second World War. There's plenty that it could cover: a Mediterranean GC as the British or Italians, some of the Pacific campaigns could probably make a few standalone GCs. Of course, there would also be plenty of room for individual battles: Midway, Philipine Sea, Denmark Straits, Narvik, Matapan, Savo Island, Kula Gulf, etc.
I like the potential for "what ifs" such as Operation Culverin.

Curious to see the mild answers here, I expected a more hot receivement to my idea, tought it could be very fun to replay historical battles with historical ships, and If linked with RtW2, even play with your own designed toys in self generated battles.
Maybe I was wrong.
