IT, 1900 start, large fleet
During battle, several ships detached themselves from their divisions, without any log entry.
DD Palestro is on her own ...
.. and causes an Access Violation

Sry, could you check which version the game files are from? I am pretty sure I updated to 1.07, but the game says 1.06 in the title bar?!
RTW2.exe says 1.0.3.0 on right-click, details ...

Its difficult to determine from the save game itself, however I would recommend you update to 1.08 (the latest release) if you can.
Also, are you running with any modded files?

No mods no more - had a modified SpeedHPTable2.dat before I updated and started a new campaign.
Constant updating kills mods

Constant updating kills mods So far, I have not any issue.
The only thing is that after 1.08 patch submarine warfare is not doing anything (no sunk submarines or merchants). But somebody mentioned it is issue of the 1.08 patch.
Mods should do well too. Ships are saved with exact numbers so even if there is some change it usually do difficulty only with engines refit, otherwise it is not usually issue.

I'm almost positive the submarine bug showed up in 1.07; I logged it at the time and was hoping 1.08 might have fixed it (which is how I'm almost positive it isn't 1.08). Note that it's just the AI subs that are broken - my subs have both been sinking and been getting sunk.
