Namely, the weapon section does not work. Irrespective of which tab I click on to the right, I only see the gun section. In the following screencap, although I clicked (and activated) "flight infrastructures", you note that I still have the "gun armament" table displayed. Switching to "wide" mode helps, in a fashion. I do now see several tabs side by side, except that the window is not wide enough to accommodate them, so I actually have access to gun and half of the "additional" section, the rest is lost. Switching back to "regular" mode then results in a totally messed up window (see next post). This is on a newly purchased copy, updated immediately to 1.11 (should I have done the other updates sequentially ?). However, the version, as displayed in windows, is still elderly : Thanks

So, going wide : I see one and a half tab to the right, and given there are no scroll bars, I cannot see the rest. Returning to narrow : It's worse ! Now I see only half of the weaponery section ! However, the tabs now work, I can click and see torpedos (not flight installations though, as it is too far to the right).

What resolution are you running at?
What scale are you running at?

What resolution are you running at? What scale are you running at? Scale 100% Resolution is variable but generally high: is a laptop that gets plugged and unplugged from external displays, so it changes during the day - no noticeable difference though. At the time of writing, the above report is on two monitors each @1920x1200. I'll check latter with other options (such as laptop screen only) and report back.

Hum, that is odd, have not seen this exact circumstance-issue before ..we are discussing what you are seeing in our internal NW Team discussion board, will let you know what we can recommend. Thanks. Please tell me if there is something more I can do to help. Another tidbit of info, before buying the game I tried with the demo (which is based on 1.04, I believe). The wide/narrow issue was already there, exactly the same. The tabs issue was there but in a different way : I could access the three tabs but in wrong order (i.e. clicking on tab "gun" showed me torpedos, on tab "torpedos" showed flight equipments and "flight" lead to gunnery). This was funny, but usable if mildly amusing. Also I have edited the preference files, here it is if there is something to see here. Having coded a bit of GTK interfaces, I see very well how you can do that with incorrect bindings on your widgets :-) but I do not see how this could be machine specific. Unless you're somehow loading a system-wide GTK library, pointing to another version locally ? Jeff [Edit] On second thoughts, I doubt this is the pref files, as it happens even when I delete it. What else can be different on my system ? French locales ? Installation on a custom location ? Highly customized $PATH ? Attachments:Preferences (2.12 KB)

I don't see anything that is obviously an issue in your preferences file.
Here is a shot in the dark: try running the game with administrator privilege, let me know if that makes any difference, please.

I don't see anything that is obviously an issue in your preferences file. Here is a shot in the dark: try running the game with administrator privilege, let me know if that makes any difference, please. Thanks for trying, but this does not work. Same result. Another experiment : loaded a virtual machine with a fresh, out of the box copy of windows 7. Installed RTW2 & patched it to 1.11 and, lo and behold ! In the virtual machine everything works fine, none of the two issues I report are present. I guess I could play on the VM, but this is a bit inconvenient and I'd appreciate a more usable solution.... It also suggests that the issue has to do with the idiosyncrasies of my own system. Good luck with debugging that ... I'm still willing to help, if you point me to the right direction (dumping logs etc.). For what it's worth I can start there : PATH=C:\Program Files\ConEmu\ConEmu\Scripts;C:\Program Files\ConEmu;C:\Program Files\ConEmu\ConEmu;C:\Rtools\bin;C:\Program Files\Python37\Scripts\;C:\Program Files\Python37\;C:\Anaconda3;C:\Anaconda3\Library\mingw-w64\bin;C:\Anaconda3\Library\usr\bin;C:\Anaconda3\Library\bin;C:\Anaconda3\Scripts;C:\ProgramData\Oracle\Java\javapath;C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\iCLS Client\;C:\Program Files\Intel\iCLS Client\;C:\windows\system32;C:\windows;C:\windows\System32\Wbem;C:\windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\;C:\Program Files\Intel\WiFi\bin\;C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intel\WirelessCommon\;C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components\DAL;C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components\DAL;C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components\IPT;C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components\IPT;C:\Program Files (x86)\Calibre2\;C:\Program Files\MATLAB\MATLAB Runtime\v90\runtime\win64;C:\Program Files\MiKTeX 2.9\miktex\bin\x64\;C:\Program Files\Microsoft VS Code\bin;C:\Program Files (x86)\gfortran\bin;C:\Program Files\Docker Toolbox;C:\Program Files\snap\bin Thanks...

It's nearly 10 year that I did IT, so pls bear with my foggy memory, and let me try to help ... IIRC this might be one of the following, or something else entirely ;-) ...: - graphics driver (special notebook version?) reporting erroneously on / messing with the screen/windows sizes - some software from Win95/NT times which introduced some DLL (Windows Common Controls or something) that is outdated, but erroneously used by RtW2 instead of the current one (overwriting of system DLLs shouldn't be happening in Win7 AFAIK IIRC ?!) - some brand new software that did the same, but with a new version (from Win10 or something) How to check this? Get Process Explorer ( docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/process-explorer ). Run RtW2. Run Process Explorer. Locate the line with RTW2.exe, click on it. Check the lower panel. Do the same for the virtual machine Check for differences.

I must confess I know very little about the DLL mechanism, I although thought it was supposed to be fail-safe in W7, but the evidence seems to suggest otherwise ? Ha ! This I did not know. I'll give it a try and report back ! Thanks, Jeff

And one more bit. Started a game in laptop-only mode, then went back home and plugged an external screen (with the game still in process). Back to my game, on a system with now changed resolution. I can see (and resize and everything) the main game window, but the moment I try to open a new window (any one, as far as I can tell) I get
"Access violation at address 0044EFB4 in module RTW2.exe. Read of address 00000004"
of course closing and restarting the game is enough to fix this.
