Also a misinvasion example as Im trying to invade Greece in the Med but this battle spawned in Northern Europe
I also realized this is showing my invasion fleet target is inside the minefield of Pilau in Germany

I've just been playing Italy Vs A-H (France dropped in to help A-H :-\
I noticed that the north of the Adriatic is considered to be Northern Europe. So it seems as if a fleet could be magically transported across a few countries...
Could this be the problem?

In the save you have already invaded Greece it seems, and now it appears that you are invading East Prussia. Do you mean that you never selected East Prussia as an invasion target?

East Prussia was never selected as a target.
Baltic states are a 12 point colony so can NOT be selected as a colony.
I had selected Greece for an invasion.
edit: clearer timeline below
Timeline: Im at war with FRA only a few months. GER does yet another paradrop taking Greece. I refuse to allow that so GER joins the war with FRA. The invasion of Algiers (the middle zone) gets underway. I decide to protect Greece by invading it to take and hold it from GER. Set the invasion target as Greece. not sure if if was a zero or few turns. Prior to this battle the invasion of Greece had NOT started While the invasion is cuing this battle comes up. After this battle the invasion of Greece is underway
