In the game when a production company makes a new plane on their own the comparison of plane types comes up.
The issue is that it only shows planes that are fully in production. It doesnt show planes you have selected for development that are still in development.
In one game's randomness I ended up having like 4 of the same type in development as all four of them came up this way. It was that each was better than ye-olde-biplane that was in service.
I couldnt make a decision on which to continue with until getting to the aircraft types screen. Minor impact on gameplay but it should also be minor fix.
Note also that if implementing this it would be a good time to give us the choice to allow/deny improved versions to go into production. Example ye-old-biplane B is made improved with a +1 toughness but I have in production Spitfire with higher speed and even higher toughness. ye-old-biplane B going into production will actually displace Spitfires from active squadrons.

For that last issue, you can prevent the biplane model Bs from displacing the Spitfires by manually setting them to obsolete—right click the type in your aircraft list and that should be an option. Should also work if you develop a private model which ends up being worse than something you have. Does developing plane models increase your aircraft cost?
But yeah, I do agree that in-development models showing up in comparisons would be a good addition.
