If there’s one thing that SAI’s campaign did better, it’s the simulation of the hide-and-seek that characterizes naval warfare. I guess it would be tricky to do with a game that covers the entire globe, but I wish that the player could pick one or more theatres that he wants to play in SAI-level detail and the game would generate missions in the same way, but with a longer time-span and involving multiple fleets. I don’t mind spending days patrolling and searching for the enemy fleet, if it means that once contact is made, I can plan carefully - where and when to approach, consider the weather, and plan where to cut off the retreating enemy fleet. The feeling that everything is unpredictable - thee enemy may even not be active this month at all for example, makes it so wonderfully replayable.

Perhaps something to think about to include in an expansion?
Thanks!

I very much would like to see something like this.
A more ambitious request would be a "record button" for wars: When you record a war, details on the progress of the war in every sea zone are written to a file that can then be used to generate an SAI campaign for any sea zone (for example, ship movements could be used to generate campaign events of the "do you want to spend VP to keep this ship in theater?" variety, the end date of the war would be used to determine the end date of the campaign, dispositions at the end of the war and losses during the war would help determine VP and numerical advantage requirements to win the scenario, etc.).
