Just discovered that the new forum is active, year or so ago either it was empty or I didn't find my way in.
My copy of SAI is several years old now and Wilhelm mentions in 2014 and upcoming update. Where might I find it.
Also, are American ships now included?

Akmatov, Updates for Steam and Iron are on this page: nws-online.proboards.com/thread/3/steam-iron-information-updatesI believe that Fredrik intends at some point to roll a few of the changes from 'Rule the Waves' into the SAI game, but that may be some time away as he is pretty busy on RTW updates right now. Thanks!

I'm a bit confused as there have been American ships included in SAI from the beginning.

Possibly I'm confusing SAI with the preceding WC:NAW which originally didn't have US ships included. As I said, I've been missing for a bit. Thx for the responses.

WC-NAW has had the WW1 era US ships for sometime. On the WC-NAW page, you can download the scenario pack which includes a number of WW1 scenarios featuring American warships.

I'm a bit confused as there have been American ships included in SAI from the beginning. Actually, they were not, below is from the description of SAI - www.navalwarfare.net/steam&iron.html* Nations included: Germany, Britain, Italy, Russia, Austria-Hungary, Turkey, France. Now all I have to do is find the damn download file and do some updating

Actually they are included in both stock SAI-TGWAS and SAI-RJW, with at least twenty classes represented in the former:
American capital ship entries from the Classes.cfg in SAI-TGWAS are:
BB;Nevada;Nevada;0316 BB;Nevada;Oklahoma;0516 BB;New York;New York;0414 BB;New York;Texas;0314 BB;Wyoming;Wyoming;0912 BB;Wyoming;Arkansas;0912 BB;Florida;Florida;0911 BB;Florida;Utah;0811 BB;Delaware;Delaware;0410 BB;Delaware;North Dakota;0410
USN designs included but not entered in the Classes.cfg include:
B; Alabama DD; Allan CA; Charleston CL; Chattanooga B; Idaho B; Kansas BB; New Mexico CA; North Carolina B; Ohio B; Ozark (Monitor) BB; Pennsylvania DD; Parker DD; Paulding CL; Salem BB; South Carolina CA; West Virginia
Included in both stock games are USN-Japan Battle Generators for the Pacific. All you needed to do to find them is open the game and look.
Thanks.

hmm, given that my download is misplaced I can't open the game. But you are saying the information provided at www.navalwarfare.net/steam&iron.html and updated as of 12/15/2013 is incorrect?

Not incorrect but perhaps incomplete. Given that the USN fought no significant surface actions in World War One and Steam and Iron - The Great War at Sea is all about surface actions in the Great War, the omission of the USN from the descriptive text even if most classes in American service during the period are represented in the game is totally irrelevant, in my opinion. Only one stock scenario features US ships, with five battleships of the 6th Battle Squadron present in the 1918 scenario " The Last Sortie", which models the High Seas Fleets unsuccessful raid on the Norwegian Convoys in April of that year. It seems odd to be complaining about getting more than advertised but to each his own, I suppose.

By your logic then France, Italy and Austro-Hungary should also be removed as none of them fought a significant surface action. I don't need snarkiness to start my morning. I asked a simple question and in return be misinformation and attitude. I'm done, ya'll have a nice day.

I believe Chris needs to update the SAI info posted on the NWS home website (navalwarfare.net) as for some reason it appears to reflect a pre-release list of nations in SAI - I have sent him an email to change that.
Akmatov:
If you have lost your copy of the SAI game please send an email (explaining you have lost your copy of the game) to Chris Dean (NWS owner/store operator) - please include details of the email and name used when you purchased SAI (and your SAI serial number, if you still have it, would be a big help) and he can help you replace your copy of the game.
Chris Deans email is: NWS-ONLINE@NWS-ONLINE.NET

Thank you very much William. I'm doing a sweep for the file and the serial number tonight and if they don't turn up, I will follow you advice. Recently added a SSD and did a OS rebuild and am still stumbling over things that need attention.
