As FW explained, how to mod ship designs:
I decided to add some legacy ships templates which I think were missed in original game. Here they are:

B:
B0X5: Generic "Ram battleship": 10000 ton B with forward 12 in turret only (and some secondaries), to simulate influence of that-time popular theories to navy.
CA:
CA0R0: Russian armoured raider, based on Gromoboi, with archaic side-by-side single 8 in mounts and heavy secondary battery.
CA0R1: Russian armoured scout, based on Bayan-class (I added her as in other way AI is strangely prone to build tons of Gromoboi-class only, ignoring generic designs)
CL:
CL0R1: Russian "semi-armoured" 7000 ton cruiser based on Bogatyr-class: fast, well-protected, with two double 6 in mounts (strangely, AI seem don't like her)
CL0X5: Generic 5500 ton Elswick-like cruiser with 8 in main guns, based on Japanese Casagi-class
CL0X6: Generic 3300 kton fast short-ranged fleet scout, based on Russian Zhemchug-class
CL0X7: Generic 6000 ton fast cruiser with 12x1 6 in guns, based on Russian Varyag
AMC:
AMC0X7: 10000 ton 20-knot well-armed liner, to simulate real usage of such ships.
MS:
MS0X2: 1700 ton well-armed slightly armoured colonial gunboat
To use them, install files from archive to data/IDes folder
NOTE: those designs should be installed at clear game, if you already created your own templates, you should change last number in double template name to not used one (not higher than 7).
If you have your own designs to add, post them in this thread
The format is ShipType + aNumber for the time period (one digit 0-4) + X = Generic, can be beginning letter for specific nation + a number (one digit 0-7). The files should be in Data/Ides.
For example CA0X1 is an early generic CA.
DD2G0 Would be a later German DD.

Do not change the templates with higher numbers than 7, as they are used in special cases.
