The Germans have blown up one of our ships. We cannot let them think they can get away with that! This means war!

November 1906
A force of two of our light cruisers engaged a similar enemy force, but had to retire after the Germans unsportingly brought up reinforcements. Dastardly Huns!
No ships were sunk:

29 Jan 1907, 12:41 -- early reports indicate our fleet has made contact with the entire German fleet
Our task must be to push through the enemy cruiser screen, close with their battleships, and destroy them.

Jan 1907 - we have won a great victory against the Germans!
We movred our battle line straignht into their battleships, with destroyers and cruisers surrounding our battleships. The enemy were torpedoes and then battered with gunfire.
At the end of it, we only lost 1 battleship and they lost 6.

We are building some more destroyers, to replace the ones lost in the battle of the North Sea. They are a faster version of the River class.

June 1907 Widespread food shortages and unrest are reported in Germany. They may throw in the towel soon.
Also, a German force tried to attack one of our convoys, but without much success as they didn't press the attack, even though they outnumbered us 3 battleships to 2.

March 1908
With the first batch of Dreadnoughts and battlecruisers nearing completion, it's time for some new destroyers.
(Note: the historical Beagles had a displacement of c. 1000 tons but i could get the same spec in 600 tons, so I did. British destroyers of the period were not highly specced; I think this reflects their purpose as countering enemy destroyers rather than as offensive units with torpedoes. This means I will probably have to alter my playing style to be less focussed on torpedo attacks and more on gunfire.)

August 1908
Time for some more battleships -- the St Vincent class
(Like the historical St Vincents, these revert to 12" gun main armament)
