Thanks for the AAR, well written! Somewhat surprised it is over, with reinforcements from the allied nations, UK surely would have achieved numerical parity again, with allied ships generally of superior tonnage and calibre?

It would seem that Arena of Steel works better than the standard campaign, because, thanks to the constant addition of new ships, you don't get that imbalance of forces that makes the game boring in the last turns. Is this also your impression?

Thanks for the AAR, well written! Somewhat surprised it is over, with reinforcements from the allied nations, UK surely would have achieved numerical parity again, with allied ships generally of superior tonnage and calibre? Thanks! Yes, more reinforcements could be sent from America and France, but the political will has evaporated given the losses at sea and on the continent. The Germans have also received prizes from Russia, maybe of dubious value, but a lot of the Svetlana cruisers, four dreadnoughts and a half-finished battlecruiser aren't bad. In other words, I felt this was a good place to finish - I have beaten the game after all! Its been well over a year in-game and out, and writing the turns up takes time that slows the pace of the game itself to a crawl sometimes, but it was certainly fun to play and fun to write. It would seem that Arena of Steel works better than the standard campaign, because, thanks to the constant addition of new ships, you don't get that imbalance of forces that makes the game boring in the last turns. Is this also your impression? Indeed the more ships the merrier. Knowing both sides are due a lot of reinforcements makes the gameplay more interesting since it can't usually be ended by one decisive battle.

Thus it ends! Quite the ride, I was a little surprised you managed to pull off a win in the end despite your many successes. Well done to you for persevering over the last two years and getting the job finished!
Do you have any plans for another AAR someday?

I hope a Steam and Iron 2 happens at some point, though maybe the new additions for RTW 3 will fill that void to some extent.

I think the NWS team still will have their hands full with RTW3 for quite some time. I’d wish they were to decide to add a reduced SAI campaign into a future RTW. RTW3 is such a good game! Only that wars are a bit disappointing, because we can hardly do anything: often there’s nothing we can invade so we’re reduced to a very passive playing, just waiting to see what meaningless random battles the AI gives us. Campaigns in SAI are so much better thought, we have a lot of options and what we do, we do with a purpose, it’s not random. So for me it makes a much better game experience. A future RTW including a simplified, time-reduced version of a SAI campaign (with fewer wars, maybe every 10 or 12 years) would be just sooooooo good… But this is just me day dreaming.
