Hi folks, first post here - sadly, it's a bug. That's OK, I understand what a Beta is. :-) Twice now, using the latest 1.33b1 I've had a Fleet engagement where a large part of my fleet has been separated from the rest - by several thousand miles. Specifically, the engagement is allegedly in the Baltic, but many of my ships are off the African West Coast. Anyone else noticed similar? Thanks for your feedback.
Which nation were you playing, and which nation was your enemy?
Playing as Russia, enemy Germany, both times. Ta for the answer.

For all bug reports it will help investigate the issue quicker if you state: Version used Options selected Nation played Enemy nation Year in the game Other relevant circumstances
Thanks!

Version used:- 1.33b1 Options selected: - Historical budgets, V. large fleets. Nation played:- Russia Enemy Nation:- Germany (twice) and now France (once) Year in the game:- Can't recall 1st two, but this one is 1908. I think the other two cases were later. Relevant circumstances - Happens with larger battles (probably a 'duh!' but I thought it best to err on the side of more info.) This is currently a game-breaker for me. Steve.

There is no such thing as too much information when chasing bugs.
I am investigating this and have tried to replicate it, but so far no luck. Could you post your save game? I need the whole directory for that savegame. It will be in save directory with the name Game + a number, Game1 etc. Zip up the whole directory and attach it to a post. Thanks!

Hi Fredrik,
I'll have to reproduce it myself - I've overwritten those saves. I'll see what I can do...
Steve.

Here's another example of the misplaced fleet bug. In this case I'm using v1.33b1 with Varied Tech turned on. It's 1926, playing as Germany fighting Japan. I've been at war for around 6 months. This is our first fleet battle though there have been several cruiser and convoy attack battles prior to this, none of those smaller battles had this problem. I found that my entire Main Force was incorrectly placed in the waters off West Africa while my Scouting Force was placed properly in the Northeast Pacific. The saved game is from the very first turn - no movement has been executed. Options Selected: Manual build of legacy Fleet, Large Fleets, Varied Technology, 100% research rate. Here is a link to the game directory: 1drv.ms/u/s!Ai3QWk1TjXqIrmRJYdcRXnNVY3kY Edit: Aargh! The link doesn't work for me but if you paste it into the address bar it will take you there. Edit: I want to add that I believe this is the first fleet battle that has occurred in this game, which is unusual in my experience since I have fought in 5 wars so far. I have fought perhaps 7 battleship engagements and those had no placement problems.

It looks like the autodesign for Big CL is producing strange results (ships with turrets with 0 guns).

That's what they define as casemate guns. It's not a bug, it's a feature, and I mean it unironically.
Suggestion: Can a mode be made where the guns can only be mounted in casemates? XD

I think that's a peculiarly French thing, IIRC. Do the "casemates" actually fire?

The Royal Navy seems to have used turrets along the broadsides for her protected cruisers but that design isn't unknown for the 1890 period in other navies than the French. Here is USS San Francisco with a 12x1 6in main armament. Attachment Deleted She has a similar arrangement. Single gun turret forward and aft and the rest in sponsons on the sides.

Indeed, that ship design above has a bit of an Omaha class feel to it . Brits used casemates a bit as well though - most nations did, although mainly for secondary guns and lower.

Thanks! Value is out of range for some reason, but it will adjust and be within range after one turn.

I really would have liked to take a look at that save
