The game plays fine on my Win 10 system but will not save. There is one saved file marked temp but when I click on it the Error message says Memory exception and if i click OK the game simply closes. Ant suggestions?

Hello Deatone,
I've fwd' this to Chris Dean, but the following are some common initial steps to take that might help:
1) Try "Run as administrator" with the shortcut used to launch the game.
2) Run the game in compatibility mode for "Windows XP (Service Pack 3)" - this sometimes helps with older games.
3) It is possible you have a corrupted installation - try a re-install: uninstall the game, delete any folders/files left over, and re-install it. Do you then have the same issue?
If you can post a couple of items of info about your PC that will help us to understand your setup:
a. Windows 10, but is it 32 bit or 64 bit version? b. What folder/path do you have the game installed to?
Thanks.

Are you trying to save a custom game or a game in progress? In the game directory there should be a gamesave, AAR, Scenarios-WW1, and Scnearios-WW2 set of folders. All game saves would be in the gamesave folder. Make sure to exit the game before looking to see of if those files are in the right folders - note you cannot open a "savedgame" file from outside the game. You should be able to load a saved game when you start the game and select "resume saved game" option.
Thanks

Ant suggestions? Are there any other parts to the message like "out of memory" or anything else? Temp files are supposed to be closed and deleted.
