What if the devs published this game on Steam but upped the Steam price due to their massive cut and the revenue lost to piracy? It's a niche game, look at how much those Gary Grigsby games cost. I'd be all for this. I'd at least buy a second copy and probably gift a couple to friends.

As far as I understand, short range is limiting (can't operate outside of home areas? Never really tried it myself) but everything more than that is pretty much the same in a practical sense.
Longer ranges, I think, just reduce risk of impounding due to low fuel and maybe reduce the penalty to operating without sufficient basing in the sea zone by a bit. IIRC, the general consensus is that in most cases the extra tonnage is not really worth the benefits.

It doesn't do anything except let you add more catapults. No changes to ship graphics, no checkbox. Pretty sure it also only affects new designs.

I feel like I always get either neutral or unfavorable match-ups - almost never do I get an advantageous battle unless I have overwhelming superiority in the sea zone (i.e. they don't really have capitals to contest). The number of times I've had 1 or 2 Cls against several CAs or BCs in my damn home region is ridiculous.

Pretty sure it's just flavor text in the naming of airbases. They all operate the same as far as I can tell.

As far as cloud saving, you can do some magic with symlinking (https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/16226/complete-guide-to-symbolic-links-symlinks-on-windows-or-linux/). I've not tried with RTW but have had some success with other games in the past.

Where does the angled deck design option appear? I have researched it, but cannot locate anywhere on the ship design page to add an angled deck. It is automatic or a player decisions to add? It's automatic on new classes after researching, as far as I can tell. Doesn't really change the look of auto generated ships or anything, and no toggle checkbox.

To answer the specific question on how you add deck catapults to your carrier design, once you research the technology, you add them under the catapults tab. The maximum is two. See attached screen shot. They are not the "swivel" type used on non-carrier warships.
You can add at least 4 (haven't tried more) once you research angled flight decks. Also something no one has mentioned here: According to the guide, catapults allows CVs to launch CAP fighters without turning into the wind.

I have just build 2x4x16" battleship with AB layout to save maximum weigth and costs and it was nightmare in battle. 2 of 5 battleships of this class get hit disabling both turrets. On opposite my older battlecruiser with standard 4x2x15" guns lost only half of firepower.
The previous class has layout 3x3x16" ABL and it was much better solution.
I'm having this same issue with the 2x4x16 all-forward gun layout in a fast BB class I'm actively producing. First ship in the class was lost as a result of getting both guns knocked out and the second barely managed to get away despite this happening to it as well... in the same battle... but I've got another 4 building w/ <8 more turns and I can't cancel them because I need the tonnage Currently in a war with the US as CSA and they've got me out numbered with capital ships significantly and I'm managing to win because of airpower but having issues keeping any battle line in good repair to do anything but desperately run - which highlights another issue with the all-forward approach with 2x4x16. My BBs couldn't return fire in any significant fashion while moving away. Already have the next class designed and dropped speed to 25 from 28 in order to switch from ab 2x4x16 to aby 3x3x16, cut out heavy secondaries to switch to all AA in DP mounts, and then used all the extra tonnage to tack on a bunch of extra turret and deck armor as well. Never taking that approach again

I've never gotten more than 6 points in all of rtw or rtw2 even while soundly thrashing the enemy over the course of a long war (5x as many vp, all/most of the enemy capital ships sunk). Not 100% sure how it works but as Antediluvian has said there seems to be somewhat random. At least now you can manually set invasions and take territory on your own. You need collapse of enemy to get 10 points. It could be done through blockade or sinking merchants (raiders, submarines). Ah that would be it then - don't recall ever winning due to collapse in rtw1 and only played one so far in 2. I almost never bother with raiders or more than a handful of subs to pop the occasionally helpful 'submarine xyz torpedoed and sunk abc'

I think my planes are bugged... 1927 and no Torpedo or Dive bombers researched/can't request a design. I've got 12% in tech and all of the air related techs on high but nothing. Anyone else experience anything like this?
EDIT: 1928 finally offered the tech by the US. Not sure if this is an issue or not. The ability existed in 1920 in the demo but that could have just been a demo thing?

A bit of weirdness with 1900 start AI generation. Attached picture is a ship that spawned in from my ally. Checking the almanac its an 1899 design with above-water tubes and a bunch of light AA guns which AFAIK should not be possible.

I'm getting this "No MCI Device Open" error as well, exactly as stanmckhanic quoted above. I'll post specs/full dxdiag if necessary. I would try the new version RC5 Demo, that is one of the issues that was addressed in the new release that went up a few minutes ago. If it still does occur in that release please let us know. Ah great, thanks. I didn't realize there were revisions up, still have the first version probably lol.
