Picture views
When you select "status" . You get 2 view tabs 1.Game view 2.Picture
Is it possible to have a third tab so we can have a line drawing and a photo?
Thanks

Still Russian campaign is very easy Before 1 May 1904 I didn't see any Japanese B's, the only serious clash was Bogatyr vs Azuma & Tokiwa, my CL had 15 medium hits but rescued and arrived to port. All PA's battleships went in night and arrived to Vladivostok without any problems, and Oslyabya from Cam Rahn did it too. Now the game becomes simple endless hunting for TR by all cruisers. Now difference is about 200000 and sure to reach 600000 very soon. Campaign step is 1 week, level is Hard, patch 1.62 applied. Maybe campaign for Japanese is slightly more interest, but, living in Moscow, I still want to raise Russian flag above Yellow Sea in real challenge

I think that mandatory missions (*) should cost 50-100 times more. Who needs pithiful 500 points in exchange of great risk?
So prize of 50000 points will be a good reason to stay in Port Arthur to the last moment.
Night operations with battleships should be much more difficult, like it was in reality. Runaway from PA is too easy now, in my opinion.

And one more thought, charge for ships can't back to port before time limit should be lost of this ships or large OP losing at least. This "Increased wear and tear" is completely neglected now.

Thanks for your suggestions!
The Point has been raised Before that the Campaign is esy for Russia, and I tend to agree.

Here is a list that i think is interesting.
Suggestion / Nice to have
1. The text in game that appears on screen often is not visible depending on background of map. Weather/ sighting info. Is it possible to select colour or perhaps change it? The same info.. is it possible to have it in a window that can be moved or perhaps on the LHS? 2. The database of all the ships. Is it possible to be able to click on a ship name and be taken to the in game info screen that contains the picture? 3. Torpedos. is it possible to have them the same colour as nation (blue or red) ? In the path view at end of game, can torpedo trails be shown? 4. Ship direction. Is it possible to click on ship then mouse click on map for direction travel. This would be easier playing on a laptop. 5. Wind direction indicator. Is it possible to make it more visible? 6. reports/logs/statistics/Ship name. is it possible to match lines of text with nation colour ? So it's easier to read/separate? 7. Night time. Is it possible to make nigh time darker, maybe an option in the "Map colours" Preference menu... maybe the sea black? 8. Way-points. Is it possible to have them and be able to set them? 9. Measurement button. Is it possible to have one on the screen? Can a line appear to show the distance measured? 10. When you select a ship on the world map .. can its name etc appear on the LHS in the Reports/ objectives/log section ? 11. Range sighting/gun. Can they be different colours? to easy identify. Also can they have an option to stay on while moving? Or will that be to CPU/Ram intensive? 12. SAI & RJW have the same selectable options for example RJW has "Run to point on course click". 13. Scenario Description on the main screen. Is it possible to add the objectives here so you can quickly and easily see what it is? 14. Sinking sound. Can a sound be added when the main/lead ship is actually sinking? 15. Sounds. Maybe a sound when a ship is sighted and an objective complete? 16. Slow/ Dead stop speed button. For when you want to loiter/wait at a spot maybe to ambush or finish off an opponent/structure. 17. Name colour. Maybe match the ship name colours to country/friend or foe colours. 18. Logs made easy to save/share. MAYBE AN END OF BATTLE/SCENARIO REPORT CAN BE GENERATED AND SAVED/EXPORTED ? 19. Ship direction. When you click the red arrow for course direction is it possible for it to stay selected so you can click on other points instead of re-selecting each time (i know about the short cut). Maybe the button can stay down as well until it has been operated? 20. Double clicking on a ship on the map takes you to the detailed info screen about that ship. 21. Picture views. When you select "status" . You get 2 view tabs 1.Game view 2.Picture Is it possible to have a third tab so we can have a line drawing and a photo? 22. When presented with the "chief of staff " screen on a RJW scenario, all of the ships are selected (ticked) you have to manually deselect most of the list. Maybe the boxes could be NOT checked initially so the player has to place a check in the few he/she wants. Another way could be a "select/de-select all" button. it will probably be easier if the boxes were NOT checked.

nice list one more, instead of red and blue flags have the actual naval ensigns of the countries. The list is one i saw and put it here. The changes are mostly cosmetic or "link" types but make processing the information for the player a bit easier i think. Hopefully they are not to difficult to implement and maybe some could make the next patch/update Thanks

9. Measurement button. Is it possible to have one on the screen? Can a line appear to show the distance measured? Thanks for the suggestions! There are a lot of them and many are good, but there will not be time for them in the next patch I'm afraid, but I will keep them in mind. The above one, you know you can measure distances by double clicking on the map? There will then be a cross and distance and bearing to the mouse cursor will be shown in the status bar.

Yes i know about the measurement but thought a physical line showing point to point and maybe a button would be nice Any additions would be graciously received Any update on the update? Thank you

I think that mandatory missions (*) should cost 50-100 times more. Who needs pithiful 500 points in exchange of great risk? This is an intentional design decision; the VP reward is generally a small carrot to make a sortie, the stick is the risks involved. There were few single naval operations that were worth significant losses so it's up to the Player to make their risk assessments based on the prospects of minimal rewards. What difficulty and campaign turn length are you using?

Another suggestion (added to list as 22... was missed somehow)

What difficulty and campaign turn length are you using? Difficulty is Hard, turn length 1 week. Russian battlesips can almost freely travel between PA and Vladivostok, if their sortie/arrive begins at night. Collisions are rare and meaningless. I think it's wrong - why real Russian admirals didn't use this solution? About VP reward - this can mean more for Japanese only. For Russians risk of high losses never compares with 500-1000-2000 VP's (less than cost of 1 TR). So the whole game becomes a long hunting for transports in Korea straight

To some extent this is a matter of the game as simulation and the game as a game. The real life Russian navy did not IMHO utilize all options available to them for a variety of reasons. I think we can all agree that the Russian Navy could have made more use of their cruisers to pursue a raiding strategy or guerre de course for example. The player OTOH has 20 20 hindsight and is also much more free to use the optimum strategy. SAI RJW lets you explore the possible best strategy for the Russians, even though the player is limited by OP:s, collisions and bad night performance of the Russians. This might well lead to a dull game as the Russian, but also remember that the experience is different for different players, as we can see from some AAR:s on this site.
That said, in the next update I have implemented some changes and some of your suggestions to make the game more challenging for the Russian player.

Thanks, Fredrik! SAI is a great game, and IMHO is not far from absolutely ideal naval sim. And it's cool that it's developers listen to us.
