-Hey, what's that? -I think germans can't pick their sailors up, so they have sent us coordinats. -Is it a trap? imgur.com/a/gR4iaAnd... Is it a bug or you really can pick up people from alive ship? imgur.com/a/FClyrIt's dusk in a heavy rain. The shortened visual range could cause a sighted ship to quickly go out of sight while you meet the condition to fire the "do you want XXX to pick up survivors..." message. Either that or it's possible that the ship sending the request can see the sunken ship but your ship can't so maybe that's why it's reported as unsighted. I'm not sure how the game works on that score. I'm assuming that you received the "Destroyer Hull is sinking" log report prior to taking that snapshot. So if a ship is sinking but not yet sunk then yeah, you can take survivors off the ship.

Your ships will often bombard such ships for up to an hour (sometimes longer) before they finally sink (in ship log damage marked with # are such overkills). When it is your ship, you do not have to wait untill your ships sink, but can pick survivors up from floating wreck.

Either that or it's possible that the ship sending the request can see the sunken ship but your ship can't so maybe that's why it's reported as unsighted. I'm not sure how the game works on that score. It's actually because ships cant be identified or spotted after they sink. So a ship sinks out of your sight then you go to the spot and see survivors.

Heh, I always thought ship is dead only if it can't move But why can I control "dead" ship even after I took all crew from it?

Well, you are almost close enough to call away boarders. Not many belaying pins or cutlasses lying around though in this time frame.

Either they went in one side and out the other or, more likely, that size gun can get off more than one shot in a turn.

When the enemy isn't providing enough challenge, your crews like to go for trick shots. You put a lot of spin on the shell so that it bounces straight up and comes down again and the deck.
