Hi all,
I made this thread to stack new event ideas in.
Heres a few.
Minor nation wants to buy a ship.
If a nation has old-ish small ships (KE, DD, CL) in mothballs, a minor nonplayable nation can randomly offer a price not much greater than scrap value. Purchase can also be of more ships of the same class.
Minor nation has great ambition.
A small nation contracts you to build a new state of the art ship, cashing out up front (even up to BB size). It will be seen in your building queue. In case of war, you can confiscate the ship, but your prestige takes a massive hit.
Sale!
After the war, minor nations flock to buy your proven small ships, incl. AMCs, DDs, KEs... End result is you get actual money for them instead of just scrapping them.
Museum ship
Ever had an old BC or a DD that served you well over the years with many battle stars? You can make (nominate) a museum ship of it that will grant you prestige equivalent to the number of battle stars the ship has. Event available once every 5-10 years.
Mutiny!
In case of huge unrest (over 8) random ships can turn against you. A battle ensues (even at peace time), where your loyalists (random) need to sink the mutineers. Prestige drops with the size of the mutinious ship.
New coastal batteries (already proposed)
While scrapping an old ship, turrets are found to be still good, and are saved to create a new coastal battery or two for really cheap.
Refloating (already proposed)
A sunken ship, yours or enemy is found to be refloatable. It takes time and money, though. If you scrap immediately, you can slightly profit, if you rebuild to spec you will spend a lot of money, but gain a bit of prestige.
Leader wants forts (trait)
Leader seems to believe that forts are the way forward and wants you to build moar. (early game). Pretty bad, but you have to obey. If he's happy in the end, budget gets an increase.
Cheating the treaty
An event, where the shipyard offers you to slightly raise the treaty limits (say, 10000 to 12000ish) for a single design. If all goes well, you get nicer ships. If you're caught (RNG roll few months later), prestige drops, tensions rise immensely.
Defecting
At the end stage of war where the player is winning hard and enemy morale is low, an event can happen where random ship/sub will defect to your side.
Scuttling
At the end stage of war where morale is low, player/enemy fleet may choose to scuttle to avoid capture.
Ingame order: Scuttle and abandon ship.
If the night is coming and your ship is floating dead in the water, you can order to "accelerate" the process to give DDs the chance to evac the ship further.
Ingame order: Take in tow.
This will give the ability to ships dead in water to perhaps reach a nearby port and therefore survive.
Ingame order: Run aground
This will significantly increase the chance of
ship being salvageable after battle - if the player was victorious.
Feel free to contribute!
