I am trying to develop a completely new Mediterranean campaign 1914-1916: the Triple Alliance against the Franco-British Entente. A first test was partially successful. Then I have corrected some minor errors and modified something about the objectives and the OOB. At the second tentative I was greeted with the following error message. (CheckCampaign Error - 23 Lay minefield with 1 ship etc. - INVALID ARGUMENT TO DATE ENCODE) What does it mean? Everything was apparently OK. Just to make sure I deleted all the objectives, but it didn't help. Other puzzling but not critical issues are as follows: - What does it mean PFStartpoint in the " Campaign side values" menu? - The last page of the campaign editor manual says: " The set waypoint map button will select the top left corner for the area for which the computer will make a waypoint map used by the AI to select good courses avoiding land to distant objectives." Does it refer to the option " Make PF map" in the main " Campaign" menu? - In the regular game campaigns the search areas appear only on the sea zones. I have set my own search areas but they now appear as superimposed to the land map.
Because I am persuaded that NWS is now fully busy with the launch of RTW2, I hope that someone else is able to help me. Attachments:

"At the second tentative I was greeted with the following error message.
(CheckCampaign Error - 23 Lay minefield with 1 ship etc. - INVALID ARGUMENT TO DATE ENCODE)"
Is this a critical issue? I get a few error messages which do not affect the game in a significant way.
If memory serves me correctly, the campaign editor came with a disclaimer that it isn't supported by the devs.
I don't understand the error messages but tend to work by trial and error. Save the mod, make a change, run a trial, save if it works or if not, go back to the previous save and try again.

Sorry vonfriedman , as you pointed out been a bit busy...I don't think that would cause a fatal error in the campaign, but I can't be 100% sure.

It seems to be a fatal error. In fact in the attempt to start the campaign the divisions and the ships that compose the forces no longer appear. I hope to have more luck with the new campaign editing attempt I'm starting now. Questions about the minor points I indicated earlier remain unanswered.

Is there anyone who can explain some symbols of the .crf files to me?
For example, in the North Sea campaign.crf file one finds:
"V=BC Princess Royal;15000;10" what does all this mean?
"R=BC Princess Royal" what does "R" mean?
"A1 = 20 (turn 28) - A1 = 25 (turn 59) - B1 = 70 (turn 153)" Idem as above. "E=1; 0; xxxxx; 10 (or 20);" I understand: "show event xxxxx to player 1" but what do "; 0; ; 10 (or 20)" mean ?
I understand: "W" = withdrawal, "U" = upgrade.
Moreover: - What does "PFStartpoint" mean in the "Campaign side values" menu?
- The last page of the campaign editor manual says: " The set waypoint map button will select the top left corner for the area for which the computer will make a waypoint map used by the AI to select good courses avoiding land to distant objectives." Does it refer to the option "Make PF map" in the main "Campaign" menu?
Thank you in advance

Am going to try some wild-a$$ guesses since it's been a while: Opens Option window for the Player. Pay 15,000 VP to keep Princess Royal with the Fleet otherwise she is removed. At this time she was sent to Halifax to counter von Spee's squadron and escort the Canadian Contingent convoy to the UK. V=Immediate action (in this case a withdrawal). Opens Options Window for the Player. 350 Days,35000 VP,10% probability every week. I believe that the event remains active until it fires should it not appear on the turn listed. P=Delayed action (in this case reinforcement). R = Returning. At this time Princess Royal returned from Halifax. I believe that ships entering the scenario under this command retain their training level.

Thank you for taking the time to answer some of my questions. I hope to have an answer also for the remaining ones. Best wishes for your work, which I greatly appreciate, and also for family life.

I got that error today actually. It happened because I’d loaded a campaign into the campaign editor using the load scenario button by mistake. I should have used the load campaign from the drop down menu. Saving it, as a campaign, removed all the start and end dates for everything. When I loaded it into sai campaign exec I was missing my fleet roster too. Thankfully I had a backup of the file, and I compared them in notepad++ and could see what had happened. All the campaign specific data was gone.....
