Soviet wonder. Who care about planes, if you have 30 mines on board? BTW, this gun on elevator... Seem that communists invented their own increased elevation! Also, news from German labs - in 1953 they still can't understand, how to make 2 level protection weaker... While I can't understand, why they even mess with it!

BTW, this gun on elevator... Seem that communists invented their own increased elevation!Since elevators generally don't go above the flight deck and it'd be awkward to fire from inside the hangar, I'd say this is more of a disappearing mount.

Does that Soviet carrier thing have aircraft if you inspect it in the after-battle results log? It looks like it's a CL that the AI converted to a CVL for some reason...but it's breaking all sorts of design rules, like half-inch-thick turret armor.

If I remember correctly, there would be no planes. Unfortunately, I didn't check her design file to be sure. And now - new mystery! Germans captured Russian steamer without ships or submarines! Anyone here a bookmaker? A "large convoy attack:" 3 of my terrible 3700t legacy cruisers (forgot to change the displacement, ) ("Main Force" on the force map below), plus a support force of 4 more cruisers ("support force" on the map) against 3 enemy cruisers (2 of them bigger than mine), plus destroyers (collectively "Enemy Force") and, of course, the convoy, including a few destroyers as close escort ("Convoy"). At first, we ID one of the larger enemy ships as an armoured cruiser, so I turn to run, but then we correctly ID it, and I decide to go for it. So I turn around, and we start a battle at extremely close (sub-5000yds) range. My cruisers are taking a battering, but then we damage one of the larger cruisers, so I turn and focus on finishing it off. The other ships leave me to it, so, and by the time I finish her, night has fallen. ("1st battle" on the battle map) My ships took a fair amount of damage in the battle (in particular, one ship had it's electrics briefly knocked out, and could only make 11kn during the battle, though this eventually improved to 16kn). Since night had fallen, it was unlikely that we'd encounter anything. I had a brief search for the convoy, but quickly decided to head for home, in case I met the surviving cruisers and destroyers in the darkness. We had an uneventful night cruising. Then, just after daybreak, I start receiving reports; the cruisers from my Support Force were reporting "1DD 3TR." The location of my support force was reported to be a good 20-30 nautical miles north-west, behind us; the contact report was almost on top of my force. I decided to investigate. Turned out to be a good choice; I sighted a couple of ships. They turned out to be destroyers, who promptly turned and ran from my cruisers (it was dawn, and we were approaching with the glare behind us. Plus, 2 destroyers vs 3 10x6" cruisers is never a good idea, even if they are tiny). I pursued, albeit at the sedate 16kn my ships could now achieve, and came across what turned out to be the enemy convoy, less the cruiser escort, who I later discovered wandered off to the east after our previous engagement. So, I was able to attack, and sink, the vast majority of the enemy convoy, several hours after I decided to break off and head home, because the support force just happened to encounter them, just a few nautical miles from my squadron, just after sunrise ("second battle"). What are the odds? Result screen: Force map: Battle map:

So, I'm currently fighting a night-time knife-fight between 2 of my battleships and 3 enemy ones. Both sides also have lots of cruisers and, in their case, destroyers, but it's 1901, so I'm not too worried about torpedoes. The battle is taking place in the channel at Emden, so I keep getting a bunch of popups asking me if I want squadrons to enter the port, and I keep hitting no. I got one for my battle division at 19:02. I hit no again. I wish I'd hit yes.

At least you can take solace in the fact that your ships are close to port, and any sinking ships are likely to be "sunk in port" rather than normally sunk. Which means you get them back. Hopefully that happened for Wettin.

That feeling when... EDIT: No such luck, unfortunately, but apparently, he got bored and left without finishing the bombardment target, the 6" coastal battery, or the cruiser, so I'm gonna call it a win.

Checking logs of air attacks, I found this:We shoot enemy to pieces, then shoot them too, and finally shoot again!
