From what I can tell the majority of players are either Present/Retired Veterans or Naval History Grognards who are just fascinated with the history and technology of the time.
You should add Grand Strategy players to that list. RTW filled the niche Aurora occupied in my heart while I was waiting for the C# rewrite to drop, but I was actually referred to it on the HOI 4's subreddit prior to the Man the Guns DLC.

Oddly enough I believe I was brought here by 'The Historical Gamer' and Ultimate General : Civil War. He did a quick video of RTW and I was immediately enamored with the title.
So I suppose general Strategy Fans is also an appropriate amendment to that list.

Same. Was watching Ultimate General Civil War on THG's channel and he mentioned RTW when he named his confederate general. And then I also found War in the Pacific Admirals Edition which has fully occupied my time lately.

I can't remember what lead me onto RTW. I think someone at Matrix Games may have given me the head's up. Lots of grand strategy games there, used to be my favorite genre. I've been mostly playing Steam games lately but I still visit Matrix once in a while.

I was looking desperately for a World War I naval game after finishing the excellent Castles of Steel by Robert Massie and realizing that Man the Guns broke the Great War Mod when I found this. Immediately fell in love with it. Now I'm just waiting to add carriers and make my giant battleships 92,000 instead of 52,000 tons.

It seems like they are waiting for the new storepage to be finished, so there is no guarantee that it won't be delayed again.

A lot of Matrix/Slitherine games are available on Steam now. I usually buy them at Matrix, though. If you purchase them at Matrix you can get both the boxed copy for posterity and a Steam key if you want to play it on Steam.

Only the great, latest incarnation DW:Universe, after years of tiresome dev/publisher/community arguing every time a new expansion for the not so great base game came out ;-).

Not to mention the modding support that Universe added to the game. That alone is a valid reason to buy it.

After RTW2 is out and stable I'd be happy to help with a discord channel for RTW2, that was discussed in another post somewhere I think.
A wiki is another good idea, we could lend some 'official' help for that as well..errr, after things settle down of course.
