Sorry for the cryptic headline but couldnt fit question. Any way. How do the game calculate my forces. I playing US and got lots forces on the east coast. All sizes too. Twice now my defencive forces has been 2 to 3 ships and the opfor double or even tripple that. Also loosing VP points because of the enemy got dominant fleet presense in Guam Area, Iceland area and poerto rico area. I got equal forces in the Carabean so there Im baffled of this VP loss. On the other areas I do not understand how I can deploy forces there as it got no seas zone.

quesing/hoping that having lots corvettes covering an area will makes for a better picture on where my oponent is and by so giving me a better composed force to use in a battle. And especially when Radar is invented and used. Hoping also that I getting some replies , eventually.

After a week playing this question arise again. Being comfortable supporting my BBs and Bcs with adecuate forces to be picked by the game for me to use in a battle. But now I got 3 CVs and 5 CVLs. My oponent in war France got 4 CVLs. Even when they are present in an area they still havent been picked for combat. Am I the commander of fleets or.....................?

Dude, Chill XDDDD. It's not as if you're going to get automatic answers! . Battle composition is randomized to a point. That you have a huge fleet in an area doesn't guarantee you're going to get a huge battle. Like in real wars lady luck plays a part. Maybe there is one maybe not. What you usually get is a pre-battle intel report. Take special care in noticing two things: A) the "size" of the battle. If it's "small" it'll usually involve a few light units (Destroyers, maybe a light cruiser, etc). If it's "medium" you'll expect heavy cruisers, maybe a battlecruiser or battleship (depends on the battlemode, more on that later). If it's "large" or "Fleet" now we're talking the big guns of both sides are out in mass and are about to clash. B) the "type" of the battle. A "Cruiser battle" won't see your whole battleship fleet sailing out (doesn't mean you don't get one BB in battle, specially if they're fast battleships, but usually they involve cruisers, battlecruisers and their respective DD screens). A "fleet engagement" is self explanatory. A "Convoy attack" or "Convoy defense" too, are self explanatory. Etc. Combining A) and B) you know what you're being offered: if it's a "small cruiser battle" I'll be expecting one or two of my CLs to clash vs some enemy CLs, maybe a CA. If it's a "Large Fleet engagement" I'll be expecting my whole sector fleet to show up en masse to lock horns with the whole enemy fleet in the sector, etc. You can "pass" on most engagements (It'll cost you VP, though). Usually you're offered a couple engagements per turn, maybe 3, if you pass on the previous one. Sometimes you get the one and if you pass you get nothing more that turns. Others the engagement can't be passed at all and you must accept it no matter what. Again, it's random, it has a component of chance and luck...just like real wars do .

Chill? The last two pre battle reports with CVs involved where big battles but still ended up with one CA against 2 DDs. How can improve my game skill if its so random? :/
