When did you start the game - 1900 What nation were you playing? Great BritainWere there any start options that were not the default: Very Large Fleets, Historical Resources, Manual Build
I was starting a battle when I received a bevy of error messages like below as it loaded, and then discovered I had no fleet. I note that the filepath that it can't find my ships at the end of seems to be for generic vessels and coastal defences, and it's not looking in the savegame folder, where the files for the ships are. lovely error messages by Edward IX, on Flickr What were you doing when the bug occurred? Beginning a scenario -- opposing a Japanese invasion in Southeast AsiaCan you describe how to reproduce the bug? Not sure, but I can zip up the save file if you want it. It happens every time I open the save. What version of the game were you playing v1.01

Do you have the game installed in the "Program Files (x86)" folder or in another folder?

Ok, I am worried it might be a permissions issue is why I asked...try running the game with the 'Run as administrator' option (right-click on the shortcut to get this option) and see if that helps any.

I had the same issue, posted as part of another issue in the original bug report thread. I think that the game's messed up the path somewhere - note that the path in the screenshots is "C:\NWS\Rule The Waves 2\\Data", not "C:\NWS\Rule The Waves 2\Data". That extra "\" character is probably the problem.

The extra "\" is just a cosmetic issue, it does not affect the game finding the correct path to a folder (I had checked with Fredrik directly about this sometime earlier when I noted that).
Could you check and see if the file(s) that are at issue actually exist in the save game folder in question?

I am getting the same error as Procopius does (with a different ship and class, of course) when continuing a saved battle. I uploaded a zip of the save to www.mediafire.com/file/qlnubu6oc22ol09/amwheresave.zip/file since 5MB is sorta bigger than 1 MB to attach here. (As an aside, shouldn't the game be looking for .(Game Number)(Nation Number)d , not .sdf?)

They do for me. It does seem like the game is looking at a different filepath than the saved game folder for them, though.
