Yeah, we only have access to Medium Bombers. Otherwise, I'd love to see this tech become a Research item! So cool! I didn't know the USA only built two and they crashed within 3 years. But parasite fighters are very intriguing. I bet we build a Jet with redockable stealth parasite drones that carry a couple MRAAMs.

I mean, not aircraft aircraft carrier in the straight sense, but we do have Ohka Carrying G4M being used in WW2
I have also read that bombers carrying their own escort fighter was at least discussed as an idea before WW2, but I don't think there are any serious attempt to implement it.

Actually, the Russians put some effort into it and actually fielded them a bit in WWII. They worked surprisingly decently and had all kinds of neat envisioned purposes, such as: •Allowing a bomber to carry it's escorts beyond their nominal range •Carrying short ranged dive bombers to a target •Using the bomber to allow overladen fighters to get airborne •Using the fighters to allow an overladen bomber to get airborne
They didn't get a whole lot of use, but were used to attack an industrial bridge with dive bombers that level bombing had failed to damage.

I think the Heavy bombers are of the Strategic type and not of the tactical variety involved in accurate placement of ordnance on ships at sea. There may be an exception to the rule, and maybe they were used as scouts, but I don't think they were ever used in any contributing way to successful naval sinking of ships. |

The Americans regularly used B-17s to patrol the Pacific, and these would presumably attack ships they found. A specific example would be aircraft operating out of Midway and attacking the Japanese carriers. Also, at the Coral Sea, B-17s based out of Australia attacked the Japanese invasion forces by staging through Port Moresby.
There is also the example of 617 squadron (aka the Dambusters) attacking Tirpitz in Norway, but I'm not sure that counts, since Tirpitz was at anchor and they were a special squadron using the unique Tallboy bomb.

 On the Aircraft tab... there you could in theory view exsiting heavy bombers... No way to order them or anything, but atleast at some point they were / are considered for RtW2. |

If you count Do 217, they had (though in game it's represented mainly as a medium bomber). And theoretically, if you've begun using guided bomb or missiles, you don't care as much about your planes maneuverability. Flying boats generally fulfill role of a heavy plane (ant historically some of them were quite heavy). |
