When playing as Britain or the US, I class world domination as a 'win'. For anyone else, being able to fight against Britain or the US and, ahem, not be annihilated.

World domination of course, muahaha...
Seriously: For me the most satisfying time is when planning and scheming and fighting towards a challenging goal, for example beat the USA in a carrier war in the 40ies, playing as Germany. As soon as this goal is within reach the game gets boring, and mostly I quit before ending it. Because a new start and playthrough with a new goal seems more attractive.
For me the most important feature of RTW2 is that the lategame with aircraft etc. gives meaning to all earlier phases. I never start in 1920.

It is about fun.
And most fun is when you are outnumbered strategically or tactically and you need to think out of box, comming with something new.

It depends on the country:
As Germany 1920 or Austria-Hungary 1900 I try to be "the stick in the a..." and try to annoy the big ones. With AH it is possible to gain domination in the Med and challenge some possesions in Africa.
As Japan it is full domination over the Pacific and with several bases in the Indian Ocean.
As Italy it is "Mare Nostrum" and some added bases in the Indian Ocean.
US/GB/GER I normally begin in 1900 and try world domination, gaining strong bases in every ocean.
To be honest- France, Spain and Russia I donĀ“t like to play- especially France with its 2 main areas Northern Europe and the Meds.
