There should be an option for this. Some historical vessels, like Yamato and Dunkerque, had secondary turrets in the centerline, able to fire to both sides of the ship.
Some kind of checkbox that could be ticked for 1-2 centrally mounted secondary turrets would be a nice addition. So if you set 8x2 secondaries aka 8 turrets each with 2 barrels, and check the central mount box, 6x2 would be on the sides (3 turrets per side), 1x2 on the aft centerline and 1x2 on the fore centerline.

I believe that if you have an odd number of turrets, the last one is on the centreline. It doesn't show up in the image, but it's there game-mechanically.

In rtw1, odd number turret will just result in guns being evenly distributed. Eg if you have 14 secondary guns in twin turret , I think the game just treats it as 2x3 + 1x1 on each side. (But the graphic wont show this) There is no mechanism for centreline secondary to My knowledge, I don’t think this is changed in rtw2. Do note that for AA purpose your dp still not affected by their location AFAIK. In Practice centreline secondary is not overly importantly from gameplay perspective imho. from realism perspective, they also add additional weight if they had to super fire over the main Turret. Which means you are not getting as weight saving as you might think. All that being said, being able to try some wacky secondary placement would be fun, like the casemate on the proposed Normandie class
