i almost never played UK in RtW1 since i preferred to use them (and to a lesser extent the USA) as a "final boss fight" since they were always so powerful and hard to whittle down - now that people are saying they are RtW2 "hard mode" i'm curious in trying them out...

Even in RTW2 UK was not easy in case of game budget as UK advantage of budget is compensated by need of large colonial empire protection. I have played only UK 1920 start with very large fleet and it is not difficult to have large fleet to anyone except USA. But that Royal Navy can be comparable to late 40s, after that USA budget skyrockets too much.

Doing much better now. Here is my latest play. Its a little bit wonky as I chose to have random tech and slow air development. Making me get airbase 20 size and AVs but no planes. I look at your save. It looks much better.
But some points to think about: 1. pre-dreadnoughts - almost everybody scrap them. They are useless in battle. Their only reason can be used them to invade another possession. So I suggest scrapping all of them or have 3-4 mothballed to save costs. This way you can save around 6M per month! 2. battlecruisers - every nation builds 1-3 modern battlecruisers, you should find money to build at least 3 modern battlecruisers too 3. armoured cruisers - they are obsolete and other nations started to scrap them and will continue. Again why you have them? I would scrap all Niobe class. You use that class for foreign station requirement. But these ships are slow, large, ineffective. Look at my previous posts, any ships over 6000 tons have penalty on FS. I would scrap them ASAP. 4. light crusiers - you do not use them much. But they should be your primary force in FS as they are much cheaper than armoured cruisers. And your cruiser force is already obsolete but still useful on FS but not having colonial service they are still not optimal. You can build 4800 tons cruisers with colonial service (counted as 6000 tons for FS), 5x6" broadside, 3" belt, 1" deck, 4" CT, 2" T and 1" TT armour with 4 torpedo tubes and still speed of 29 knots. These cruisers can be used on FS on another 20-30 years. And it would costs only 20M. You have 126000 tons for FS except the Mediterranean. This can be served by 21 cruisers or even less using old light cruisers. But your armoured cruisers on FS costs you more than 7M per month! and they are useless as they cannot catch anything as they are too slow
5. you should mothball or have some reserve fleet in peace, it is quite costly to have whole fleet in active status.
EDIT: some note on reserve fleet and mothball. It depends on player but it is always question if ship should be scrapped, monthballed or in reserve fleet. If ship is expected to fight battle mothball is not the best thing as poor experience take quite a time to improve after activating the ship. If ships is only likely to fight battle or be useful it is question if it is not better to scrap her. If you have obsolote ships which cost you about 12M per month, it means you can have 6 light cruisers for that money by one year or one most modern battleship by one year.

Good feedback, thanx. Did you see that I used admirals mode? I must say the battles run more fluently but also less kills in big battles with hvy ships and AI dont really know how to priorities bombardment goals. So this I do controll.

repeated errors in combat and some in normal gameplay. The culprit in normal game play could be the air. I requested my first torpedobomber and just got some error msg but didnd understand it was because of this but when I later checked no torpedo bomber was recieved. Here is the thing, I used random tech and slow airdevelopment toghether. And I do came far with CVLs and airbase sizes and just recently got any type of aircrafts. Funnely I set hvy air tech on high and lighter than air on low. But Got all the airshipscore, higher than in any other play thrues. Attachments:Game5.rar (2.05 MB)
