Almost every single night I have a carrier lose contact and occasionally decide to become Rambo
This makes no sense as
A: They're the center of the formation
B: They're massive ships
C: They have to have some sort of radio to coordinate strikes
I don't know why carriers are so prone to getting lost relative to other ships, but this mechanic should be disabled for them in the mean time

So you mean "separated" or "out of contact", not "detached". "Detaching" is a deliberate procedure of releasing a ship / a group of ships from a task force/division go on it own ... and named as such in the game. Ships (not only carriers) easily losing contact which ships 400y from them is an entirely different thing ... which others have complained about as well. Me included IMHO this is not how the game is supposed to work, but we have not received any info from the dev about this.
I'm not sure if your suggestion "make carriers immune to detachment" is a) what you mean b) in itself makes sense, if the whole thing most likely is a bug ...

I think problem is that ships that lose contact always seem to think the best option is to rush towards the last know position of the enemy. If anything, I would expect they would either keep their current heading or set course to the nearest allied port.
