Was JATO and RATO included in the technology development area? JATO actually was begun developing in Germany in the 1920's and the US had it by the late 1930's. You can equip a twin engine bomber like the P2V Neptune with them, put bombs in it and launch it from a carrier. I have pictures of it and have seen a JATO equipped P2V Neptune.

IMO it is just too much of an 'edge case', as far as usefulness goes, to justify the work involved to code/test/add them to the game. These types of employments were either temporary stopgaps (the Neptunes on a couple of carriers) or 'one-offs' (the carrier-based B-25 attack on Tokyo), etc.

I accept that there are limitations in gaming, it is a shame, it might be fun. But thanks for the prompt answer.
